I couldn't bear it any longer. If I had heard about Evermeet being referred to as the "Elven Bible" one more time without having read it I was gonna lose my mind.
So congratulations you convinced me to spend some of my all too scarce cash on this book.

Oops . . . my appologies. That's what I get for magically reading scrolls over in the Colligate Universe while listening to a different Learned Scribe -- a Lord Williams, PhD. 
(He's the same guy I mentioned as being a religious person AND an old D&D player. And yes, he knew I was using my laptop to get online. Infact, he supplied the cord for me. I like this professor!  ) |

Irony is a great thing, isn't it? You know when I wrote that post I though, "I wonder if the people reading this will interpret this in an impure manner?" Of course I managed to convince myself I was the only one who would think of something like that.
Now, keep up. Edain is an Ar'Tel'Quessir (Gold Elf), and he is brown-haired (originally blonde, don't ask why or how, I;'m not saying) and green-eyed. So, in his humble opinion (no I'm not crazy, I've just written quite a few pieces of fiction about Edain's life, so he has a detailed personality) his eyes, and anyone's eyes, are profound features. In his case they are one of the few ways a person can discern his true ability beyond his ageless face. So, he likes green. He favors emerald, writes in green ink, seals letters in green wax, and wears green when not in his robes (which are almost always red and gold, and rarely white and silver). So, no, it's not any unpure thing, he just like green. |

Ahhh...High Magic...the rewards are wel worth the sacrifice for any loyal and arcanely inclined elf.
As for the book, it's fantastic! Evermeet was worth every penny when I bought it...a long time ago (okay not that long, but long to me). Invaluable if you want to truely understand the Elves of Faerun...unless you're me and crazy (Is it just me or do I call myself crazy a lot?). As for becoming a High Mage, Edain has been one since it's inception way, way, way back when (back when having a High Mage character was creative...er, did I say that out loud? I meant new, yes, new. ).

Yes, Yes of course. I would think it goes without saying that the Silmarillion is THE Elven Bible. However, we are talking FR here and it's a FR forum and Middle Earth's elves are substantially different from Toril's (or all of D&D's for that matter)
I am making very slow progress in the book (this has to do with life not the quality of the book) but I am enjoying it greatly. I especially like knowing the history of the elves and Evermeet.
I am toying with Nighteyes becoming a high mage at some point, and this is valuable research information. |

Funny...
I would tend to think the Silmarillion is the Elven Bible, but so be it. Evermeet was good, definitely one of the better Forgotten Realms Novels. I loved it, but then again Elaine Cunningham is REALLY talented. SHe is probably the best writer on the FR novel lists. She just seems to have more talent, than the rather average FR writers (My thoughts on the writers of these books have been expressed in another thread). I love the FR books, but I know I only read them because they are Forgotten Realms. I wonder if the writers would be able to keep me, if they were not writing about the forgotten realms world. However I am VASTLY impressed with Dissolution and Insurrection. These two new writers, show talent.
With that said, I just love Elaine Cunningham. Every book she writes is amazing. She is certainly on par with the better fantasy writers out there today. R.A. Salvatore is great as well, but it seems like his last couple of books Spine of the World , Sea of Swords was rushed by the publisher (Wizards).

This is one of my most favorite books EVER, finished it in 2 days. Its beautifully written and the ending(which I wont give away ) is awesome. I highly recommend it. |

No, Elaith's son has never been addressed in any other work. I recall Elaine Cunningham noting she had a story idea at one time that would have had Elaith and son finding out about each other and traveling to Lamruil's new kingdom together. No doubt the tension on that journey would have been a delight to read. However, nothing ever came of this idea.

Funny Correlon's code of honor and ethics strike me as Lawful Good yet his alignment is listed as Chaotic Good. Any thoughts on the matter?
