Ed can, though so far he has published a few Mirt's short stories. He is focused now in the TEGG stuff, though (that I see as a good thing).
We, the fans, cannot.
To clarify: Ed is under the same restrictions as everyone else when it comes to the DMsGuild. The first Mirt story was pulled because it was a narrative only. Ed added a few RPG elements and stats to it and put it back up. |

Posted - 15 Aug 2017 : 18:01:06 But was'nt there any comment here about greenwood could publish next novels on DMG because of this contract?
I think this is the end for D&D novels then. :( |

Posted - 30 Jul 2017 : 00:32:41 IIRC, DMs Guild doesn't allow for fictions to be submitted. Only adventures or guidebooks. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2017 : 23:20:26 Im sorry to go OT for a second. Since FR novels are no longer a thing (no puplications in DMG? I would pay for this, even from hobby writers) I was looking for other stuff to follow. There I stayed with WOTC and got a closer look at the Magic the gathering novels. Well it seems, that there have a down too. No "real" books anymore, just ebooks for the last and new upcoming novels? Is that right? |

No, no it was the Simbul in the Gazebo with the Rod of Seven Parts! |

My bad. Somehow when I searched I only came up with kindle.
Not at all: Amazon usually loads the Kindle version immediately, and the paper versions sometimes take a while to show up. :)
BenN: Whatever version gets you to buy it!
But all other things being equal, the hardcover has the best return for me.
Nothing beats a beautiful Hardcover and Farideh makes for fantastic cover art. |

Posted - 12 Feb 2015 : 07:16:36 I can't remember the last time I bought an 'in the flesh' book; my kindle collection is getting pretty extensive now. The convenience, and the easy way to scratch my impulse-buy, instant-gratification itch, make e-books vastly preferable for me.
Erin -
From the author's point of view, do you have any preference for book mediums/formats? |

Ashes of the Tyrant, Erin M Evans, October 2015
will be another of WOTC's misbegotten kindle and audio only books.
Nope! Hardcover, too, at release and paperback later. :)

Posted - 25 Jan 2015 : 19:15:36 Time to update this scroll, methinks. Below are listed the 2015 Realms novels:
Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf, R A Salvatore, March 2015
Spellstorm, Ed Greenwood, August 2015
Archmage, R A Salvatore, September 2015
Ashes of the Tyrant, Erin M Evans, October 2015
As fellow scribes have said on other scrolls, 'tis a shame that 2015 seems the worst year in over 20 for the number of new Realms novels being published. Let us hope that it is merely a temporary hiatus...

Posted - 26 Jul 2014 : 20:25:11 Hmm, so few new books are released, and harbacks only (at least initially). Any news when we can expect the "normal" - one novel per month ratio as in the good old 3e times? |

Posted - 20 Jul 2014 : 01:57:23 @jornan Paul posted on his proboards forums on July 7th, that there has been no communication between him or wotc. Also if you follow his blog, it sounds as though he is questioning continuing to write beyond fulfilling his new contract with Del Rey.
As for announcements regarding future books, I think there will be a large drop of info on future plans at Gen Con; so about a month from now. |

Posted - 19 Jul 2014 : 04:57:46 RA Salvatore had on his facebook feed several weeks ago that he was going to have a WEEK of meetings with WotC and get to see some old friends. I have yet to hear anything news indicating new books or a 5e FR campaign setting or really much of anything with FR going forward. Anyone have any info? Was Richard Lee Byers at the meeting? More Brotherhood of the Griffon? What about the other sundering authors? Any news on the Paul Kemp vs Wizards feud? |

Posted - 11 Nov 2013 : 16:06:36 "R.A. Salvatore picks up with the fan-favorite storyline of dwarf king Bruenor Battlehammer and his bloody feud with the orc kingdom of Many Arrows."
Ugh. Count me as one of the people who did NOT like the Orc trilogy or the Orc King. I am sick of Obould the XXXth and Many Arrows and the thousand orcs and everything to do with Drizzt and orcs. It's been done to death.
Would much rather a book on the new Regis, who is so kick-arse now that he has become my favorite member of the Companions. |

Posted - 10 Jun 2013 : 20:28:29 What's the deal with Codex #1? So it looks like Drizzt is still alive....and old friends (not allies, like Entreri and Dhalia)are back. Part of me thinks it is kinda lame, but part of me is really excited to see where this all goes! |
