I take back everything bad I said about Wizards... no wait... just some of them. |

Posted - 16 Apr 2006 : 15:58:16 It was back on the 18/11 actually.
And for the benefit of SirUrza... here's the original details -

I recently received contracts for a sixth and final novel in the Songs & Swords series. More Arilyn and Danilo (and Elaith, of course) are on the way. I'm really looking forward to spending time with these old friends. :)

quote: I also learned that WotC plans to publish a reprint anthology of my Forgotten Realms stories, including those published in Dragon Magazine as well as those in the older anthologies. They'd like a new story to "anchor" the collection, and Peter Archer suggested a story that would wrap up some of the loose ends in Thornhold. Here's yet another opportunity I never expected, and I'm pretty tickled. I've always been slightly disgruntled by the circumstances surrounding this book. It was supposed to be a "pivot" novel that ended the Harper series, per se, but introduced shared-author characters (Bronwyn and Ebenezer) who would be present through several novels and game products that detailed the breakdown of the Harper organization, the Harper schism, and Khelben Arunsun's part in all of it. This plan was scrapped while I was writing the novel, but something dropped through the cracks and no one informed me. This left all those requested loose threads wafting in the breeze, and readers were extremely puzzled by the "ending." There are too many unresolved story threads to treat in a single, 10,000-word short story, but I can deal with a couple of them in the S&S #6 book."

quote: I now have permission to share a little bit of information about my new FR project, so I thought I'd let you guys be the first to know. It's a trilogy called The Haunted Land, it's set in Thay, and it'll showcase the undead of the Realms in kinda sorta but not really the same way The Year of Rogue Dragons showcases dragons. The first volume is called Unclean, and it'll be out next year.
and -
quote: Also: Here are the titles and release dates for the three books in my next FR trilogy, The Haunted Land: Unclean (April, 2007) Undead (March, 2008) Unholy (Early, 2009--I didn't know Early was a month, but that's what it says on the advertising page in the front of The Ruin.) Now you guys know about as much about my career as I do.

Richard Lee Byers: The Haunted Land (no hints on who or where yet)
We already know it's about undead and it's to take place in Thay. Richard's said as much already in his own scroll.
