Sembia Timeline By Philip Athans
The Sembia series will draw to a close with the March 2003 publication of Lord of Stormweather by Dave Gross. It has been an exciting three-year run for this ambitious series, which started with a "series bible" written by Ed Greenwood, myself, and the seven original authors.
Here's a glimpse at some of the information we gathered to keep the series continuity straight and to provide answers to questions like "How long has Erevis Cale been Thamalon Uskevren's butler?" or "How old is Shamur, really?"
1273 DR: Shamur Karn is born in Selgaunt. 1293 DR: Shamur disappears, and is presumed dead. 1307 DR: Thamalon Uskevren is born in Selgaunt. 1335 DR: Erevis Cale is born, probably in Westgate. 1336 DR: Blackturrets is torn down and construction of Stormweather Towers is completed. 1343 DR: Shamur reappears in Selgaunt. 1344 DR: Thamalon Uskevren and Shamur Karn are married in Selgaunt. 1345 DR: Thamalon Uskevren II (also known as Tamlin) is born in Selgaunt. 1347 DR: The twins Larajin and Leifander are born in the Tangled Trees. 1348 DR: Erevis Cale is recruited by the Night Masks. 1349 DR: Thazienne Uskevren is born in Selgaunt. 1351 DR: Talbot Uskevren is born in Selgaunt. 1359 DR: Erevis Cale arrives in Selgaunt from Westgate. 1361 DR: Thamalon Uskevren hires Erevis Cale as his butler. 1363 DR: Tazi meets Steorf. 1370 DR: The month of Nightal -- the "now" of The Halls of Stormweather, and the Sembia novel series begins. 1371 DR: The month of Hammer -- setting for both Shadow's Witness by Paul S. Kemp, and The Shattered Mask by Richard Lee Byers. The novel Black Wolf by Dave Gross spans the year and a half between Hammer 1371 DR and Mirtul 1372 DR. 1372 DR: The novel Heirs of Prophecy by Lisa Smedman begins in the month of Kythorn. The novel Sands of the Soul by Voronica Whitney-Robinson begins in the month of Marpenoth. 1373 DR: The final novel in the Sembia series, Lord of Stormweather by Dave Gross, opens on the eleventh of Alturiak.
That's a hundred years in the life of the first family of the Forgotten Realms!
