hey all, I have been re-reading the return of the archwizards trilogy and on page 100 of the siege, I came across an interesting passage. Galaeron is peaking to Vala, after the battle at the mythallar, where the following was said:

"" "apparently, the shadow weave can still support spells powerful enough to levitate a city."
"the weave can't? Vala asked.
"it hasn't," Galaeron answered, shrugging. "not since the fall of Netheril."
If Vala saw the the danger in that, her expression didn't show it. "That is good news for for Evereska, if it means the Shadowvar are more powerful than the Phaerimm."
Galaeron nodded, but didn't say what it might also mean. ""

My question is.. has this been examined further or a more detailed explanation given for the reason the Shadover are apparently able to still utilize magic above the power levels set forth by Mystra, after the fall of Karsus?

Let me know your thoughts and/or the locations of cannon material on this subject.

They weren't around when the ban was put in place, so their existing magical effects weren't affected by the ban. Had the city of Shade still been in the Realms when Karsus cast his Ultimate Mistake spell, they'd've been in the same situation as everyone else.

It's not that the Weave isn't powerful enough to do that anymore, it's just that no one knows how. The Shadow Weave is, by definition, weaker than the regular Weave.
