Well, seemings I caught Mr. Gross here, I thought I'd say thanks for the books. I actually just finished reading "Realms of Mystery" the other day, and really enjoyed "A Walk in the Snow". Had to ask if anything further from you or Doug Niles was going to be written about the Moonshae Isles?

Bellua,

I've posted the "surprises" (well, they were surprises to me, and pleasant ones) in the new LOS topic.

My other Realms short story (apart from the new one in Dragon #304) is "Every Dog His Day," in Realms of Magic. Looking back on it, I think it can be described kindly as "cute" or, if you're feeling particularly kind, "sweet." It also began a curse that I have shaken only twice (in the Dragon short and in An Opportunity for Profit), one that compels me to include an animal or an animal-like character in everything I write. I'll get this monkey off my back one day, I swear!

Cheers,

Dave

Okay Dave--so what are the "Lord of Stormweather" suprises?
And where's the other short story you wrote? I seem to be missing it.

Hey, Bellua, thanks for making my already pretty good evening even better. I don't think anyone's ever asked about my couple of Realms short stories before.

I don't think Doug has any Moonshae books in the works; he and his buddy Michael Dobson have been working on some cool-sounding alternate history novels (Fox on the Rhine is the first).

While I love the Moonshaes and would get a kick out of writing something set there again one day, the next novel I've planned for the Realms will take place elsewhere. That's about as specific as I should be before the outline's approved and the editor's ready to let me drop hints. The book's slated for September 2004, so it'll probably be quite a while before I can give any satisfying details, but I'll see whether I can mention the title and some of the main players soon.

Oh, and call me Dave. Please!

Dave
