Posted - 18 Oct 2005 : 15:11:36 I have the complete history of Faerūn and up to where it ends in the Underdark source book. But is there a way to determine the dates after Ukta 16?? |

Well, aside from a timeline of events in that novel series, whose exact stories should be kept in secret for a wee while yet, I hope we will get some more background knowledge about those other 40-odd drow cities of Faerūn some day. Obviously, there is no need of a detailed report, but the fates of Menzo, Maerimydra, and Ched Nasad show that there have been consequences of the Silence of Lolth and more info would be welcomed.
Drakul ... there hasn't been a detailed timeline related by the Wizards so far. Thus, we do not exactly know when Lolth does return, with regard to a date on the FR calendar. Or were you after the details rather than the dates?
Well, if you want to know what happened in a lot of the cities, it is touched on by the Underdark sourcebook (which was made while the silence was about). It touches on a lot of those cities and the subsequent doings of the Drow within them during the silence.

Worry not, Beezy. 'tis Pharaun
Indeed, Pharaun and Ryld are an amazing pair of characters. Many scenes featuring these two stand out for me throughout the series |

I have the first four books and the reason why I asked for the timeline is cause I need it for my forum(s). I have not been able to buy the last 2 cause I am waitin for them to come out in paperback. |

Posted - 17 Sep 2005 : 02:54:21 I agree, the books are absolutely wonderful! I well done expose of Drow society as it should be shown. And yes, give these authors their much deserved royalties... I was only asking for a timeline! :)
Now I feel bad for asking - I'll go buy a copy of Dissolution for the penance.

Posted - 17 Sep 2005 : 01:44:06 And they are absolutely worth the read, too, if I might add that. You read Richard“s opener (and give him the well-WELL-deserved royalties) and you“ll be hooked on the whole thing. I remember thinking "Ah, Drow again?" when I first heard about the series. Then I read the authors“ names and I thought "Well, still have to check it out." Then I read tzhe first book...and darn, was it a great one (Still my fave of the first five I“ve read so far, though the others are great reads too). So...in a nutshell...go get “em and you won“t be disappointed. |

Call me crazy, Alaundo, but I worry that if authors provide synopses of their novels online, potential readers are apt to feel they don't need to buy them. I realize Dissolution came out years ago, but the darn thing is still for sale, and I still need royalties!
Well met
Quite. In fact, I had that same thought only minutes after penning this request. Unfortunately, I wasn't around to realise the error of my ways to take action
So, Drakul, how about ye go out and locate these tomes. It will be much more enjoyable to read the story first hand

I think that an annual book with an update in a timeline (adding all novel material that will be considered canon, as we see in the Players Guide to Faerun, and aditional information about the most important cities/kingdoms/organizations/faiths will be very interesting!!!
Yes, such a book would have been helpful when I was typing in all of the PGtF information about WOTSQ into my own Realms timeline.

Posted - 16 Sep 2005 : 20:05:31 Well, the one thing I like about certain FR novels, and miss when other novels don't have it, is the date heading on the chapters. It allows us not only to say, "Oh this happened then!" but it also allows us to understand the flow of time throughout a book.
Even though the story made me regret reading it, the Return of the Archwizards trilogy did make a good use of dates and times. Sad to say, in my opinion, that was the only good.

Hmmmm, I believe this has come up before. I wonder, mayhaps the authors of this series could write a little synopsis of their book here in this thread? Of course, someone will have to volunteer to do Annihilation...less Philip Athans can be enticed into Candlekeep |

Posted - 16 Sep 2005 : 14:56:45 The first three books are timelined well in the back of The Players Guide to Faerun. It leads all the way until book 3. I think they'll probably publish the rest in a later book, like a update or something.
