Any books set in thay? I need to get a better feel for the red wizards as I'm making a super special character. I'd like to post her but I'm not sure if this is the right spot or if I should make a new topic or if that'd be spamming too many topics on the same subject really.

Ah, but recently the famous Doctor Indiana Montoya, Visiting Professor of Archeology at the New Olman Bard's College of Waterdeep, has unearthed the text forgotten ballad (banned in Thay, and buried in the vaults of the Thaymount), once performed by the renown Bards Steven the Wondrous and Sir Paul, of clan Cartney, and explaining once and for all how the naga got her hands. It has since become the official hymn of the NAG (Naga Arms Giver) League. Yes, folks, we proudly present:

Naga-kin and Yuan-Ti

Naga-kin and Yuan-ti both serve evil in perfect anarchy
Side by side in the Realms, for Shekinester's, Sseth's glory

We all know that bad snakes are the same where ever we go
There are fangs and tails in everyone
But one's got arms, and the other doesn't
and naga's are aware that's highly unfair

Naga-kin and Yuan-ti both serve evil in perfect anarchy
Side by side in the Realms, for Shekinester's, Sseth's glory

So one day, A naga known as Asp, she wound up in Thay
Whining and NAGging to everyone
I need some arms, just gimme hands
now people, and I'll let you survive, just skin you alive

Naga-kin and Yuan-ti both serve evil in perfect anarchy
Side by side in the Realms, for Shekinester's, Sseth's glory

Maligor, the Great Zulkir, a fat cat wearing Red Robes
had enough of it, like Everyone
He polymporphed, he used some
alteration to give Asp what she wants, so that she'd shut up!

Just remember Naga's don't have arms if you read the first one . . .

And while none of its set in Thay, the events of Crusade happen essentially because of Thay. There is a really devious Red Wizard in Elminster's Daughter as well.

Well met

Indeed, for starters, try the following:

Red Magic (The Harpers, book 3)
The Crimson Gold (The Rogues, book 3)
