Spoiler alert*******

At the end of book 5, our heroes are just outside Lolth's temple, and they are greeted by her hand maidens. I do not have the book in front of me, so I am trying to recall from memory.

Anyway, my question is around Lolth's hand maidens. What reference book are they in, I thought I saw that Lolth has a couple of special hand maidens and I am looking through the various MM's and can't remember where I saw them....

If someone could refresh my memory that would be great :)

Cheers :)

It might be time to try some threads for authors that were involved in this series. Perhaps one of them might be able to help.

Yochlols are also detailed (in 2e) in the Villains' Lorebook.

Nothing specific I'm afraid. Just basic references to their position in the hierarchy of the Demonweb Pits, and a few notes about their overall functions, most of which we are familiar with through the various other sourcebooks and novels they've been mentioned in.

First choice was right. Drow of the Underdark has them on page 126.

Well if you want the info on Yochlols you can find them in the Monster Compendium: Monsters of Faerun on page 34. it says they are considered the hand maidens of Lloth so I don’t know if that is what you are looking for or if this Abyssal Widow is something else entirely. Hope that helps a bit.

I thought I saw a write up on them, but I can not find them now...anybody seen the write ups?

Seach provides only one mention at all about them http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/fr/annihilationinterview
and there is just a breif mention of them, by that name

"So, fans who reach the end of Annihilation wanting more -- where one of the Abyssal Widows guarding the portal to the Demonweb Pits lets slip a word that really only Pharaun seems to pick up on"

Now if they are still Yochlols more information can be gathered on them using that seach term.

Abyssal widows is what they are called in the tome.

I don't recall seeing them in a tome. I just did a scan through Demihuman Deities and did not see them listed under Lolth's write up there.
