Posted - 27 Mar 2005 : 02:20:20 I believe the poster is speaking of the, "It's only been three years since she, as in Mystra, denied the Weave to me," line of text that Cyric says on that page.
According to the WOTC novel site, ToT's ended in 1358. Trial of Cyric is 1368. Crucible is 1369. How Crucible could take place in 1369 when Cyric says Mystra did this to me three years ago, during his trial and the making of his book, is what you need to ponder. :) The dates don't add up so it makes more sense to make Crucible take place in 1371. |

Posted - 27 Mar 2005 : 02:00:47 It might be due to slight difference in page numbering for the original print and the reprint with the new covers. I don't see anything on page 359 of my book (reprint) that shows any reference to 1371 and I don't dare flip to the few pages before and after 359 to avoid spoilers. I'll continue reading it (pg.278 now) and if I find a reference, I'll post the page number for the reprint. |

Many timelines are incorrect. Crucible takes place in 1371 DR. Read p.359 of Crucible to confirm this.
So, WOTC's own site has the wrong date listed? Oy! |

Posted - 25 Mar 2005 : 23:41:19 Technically, Prince of Lies and Crucible take place after the Time of Troubles (about 10 years). However they are a sequel to some characters from the series.
MINOR SPOILER ALERT
Which leads me to a question: If Prince of Lies takes place during 1368 DR and Crucible 1369, why does Malik say he'd been waiting for years outside Candlekeep for the Cyrinishad when only one year passed since Rinda left Zhentil Keep? |

Posted - 25 Mar 2005 : 23:05:46 Ed's Shadow of the Avatar novels also take place during that time and they partly tie in with the ToT's trilogy. :) |
