Hi, guys. I was wondering, what locations would you like future novels to be placed in? I have a few. The top of those are Rashemen and the drow cities of either Sshamath or Schindylryn.
I'm sure you guys have some in mind. Shoot. |

I am hopeing that one of the authors would pick up a storyline about Amn. Specifically about the workings of the cowled wizards who preportedly are infamous and very powerful. Amn, specifically Amkethran the capital city is full of societies (Cowled wizards, Knights of the Radient heart, Shadow theives, vampires, ect) enough to spawn a very sinister and convoluted story. Lets not forget that eastern Amn has been invaded by the Sytherian hordes who are continiously pushing towards trademeet. Many authors like Elain Cunningham and Greenwood have paid scant lipservise to this once mighty empire no in decline, but there have been very few stories to document the fall of Waterdeeps greatest economic competitor. Yet its glory days are fast dispearing into the tomes of Candlekeep, to the south lies Tythier a nation on the rebound. Specifically I would love to see characters from each of The city of coin's greatest factions vieing for power and the chance to direct the goings on of the empire from behind the scene's.
Amn needs to be addressed it is an ideal location for future FR Novels! |

Part of Azure Bonds is indeed set in Westgate -- but that's it for the Finder's Stone trilogy. Masquerades has Alias and Dragonbait returning to Westgate. The other two books by Novak and Grubb, Tymora's Luck and Finder's Bane, have nothing to do with Westgate, nor do they feature Alias or Dragonbait. The Wyvernspurs get a couple brief mentions, and that's about it for their previous characters (other than Finder, of course). |

Try Windwalker, a novel by Elaine Cunningham. It's the final entry within an excellent trilogy and features the above area you mention.

I'm quite the novice when it comes to FR literature so my regional preferrences may have been covered. If so, enlighten me.
I would love more focus on Rashemen. Thesk and Aglarond are also regions I adore. I'm none too fond of Thay or Thayan presence of any kind though.
Is there anything in Impiltur already published? |

I'd desperately love to write something--novel or game product--back in my old stomping grounds of Tethyr....
And while there's a long-abiding love in my heart for Undermountain, I'd truly love to write a novel set in Shoonach, the Undermountain of the South....

Yes, SiriusBlack, I read the Magehound and it was really good. It concentrates on a lot of Halruaa history, so I'm sure Ruby Knight won't be disappointed in the least. |

Perhaps with the upcoming gaming product for the Shining South, WOTC's novel department might focus on the area again. In the interim, you do know about Elaine Cunningham's Counselors & Kings Series that is is set within Halruaa. |

Indeed, I've got weird tastes, but I'd like to see something along the line of the Jeeves and Wooster books by P.D. Wodehouse set somewhere like Tantras. Just a well-written character-driven storyline that is entertaining which doesn't rely on anachronistic humor (Volo series of books for example). Something to just show off local flavor.

You know, it's funny, but I'd love to see a novel set somewhere small, dealing with more mundane topics, rather than "saving the Realms" - again.
A novel set in somewhere like Neverwinter with a novice group of adventurers exploring the surrounding environs or making a 'wide-eyed' trip down the coast to the City of Splendors - to me, that would be cool.
Basically, I wouldn't mind a few novels that don't need me to update any of my gaming books much.

I'm not sure any one location stands out as a location I prefer to see future FR novels set within. I have my favorite locations (Cormyr, Waterdeep, Sembia, The Western Heartlands), but they have received coverage in past novels.
Moreover, even if I think I won't be interested in a location, good writing draws me in every time. I did not think I'd Arrabar that interesting. Yet, after reading Thomas Reid's opening novel in his new trilogy, I'm very eager to see a gaming product focus on that area. |

If you want a novel set in Rashemen, do read Windwalker by Elaine Cunningham. I've just finished it and highly recommed it (along woth any other EC books).
For me I'd love to see more novels in my favourite area - the Great Dale. We only have Lady of Poison. Also something political intriguey set in the realms of the sea elves/other sea races. But that isn't going to happen.
My main one, though, would be something that fleshes out Var the Golden or the other Durpari kingdoms - something to accompany Shining South. But also, new books set in Damara and Tethyr would be nice. |
