Troy was always one of my favorite Realms authors.
I've really, really enjoyed some of his FR novels... and I've really, really disliked some of his others. In fact, there have been two FR novels I wanted to hurl across the room when I was done reading them, and one was a Troy Denning novel.
I've never seen him as "Deathstar Denning," a nickname I've seen tossed around a time or two -- but his stuff is very much hit or miss for me.
Realms novels in general tend to be hit or miss for me.
It's been more like hit hit miss hit for me. But even the misses I read because they are forwarding the macro story of the Realms. |

Agreed. But usually, if I like one FR book by an author, I'll like their other FR books. It's either all hits, or all misses. Denning is odd, for me, in that some are hits, some are misses.

For the record, I have not read The Sentinal yet. I am simply happy because hearing news that more novels are coming is a good thing. |
