Hello all..im not sure if this is the right forum for this but I notice alot of authors tend to peruse this forum..
here goes, I fell in love with reading well about 3 years ago now and discovered the realms, dragonlance and yes warcraft books and immediately fell in love again with fantasy. I used to DM when i was in my late teens till early 20's and i kinda fell out of it all as the reality of making a living and life rolled on. Back in those days I had created my own worlds and so forth that my friends adventured in , they always told me that I should write because they loved what I had done and felt I was very creative. I never gave it much thought really until recently when I started reading and have since been filling note books with everything I can remember from those days and of course new material as well . Well my question is ... Im 39 now " it almost feels like its to late to start" and my dream is to do well what Ed did with FR.... now im not counting on things working out like they did for him thats just unrealistic. I really just want to put my stuff out there and dont know how to get started , and I'm new to the writing process really.
So really what Im asking for are tips from other people who have been there or are trying to get there... any advice would be appreciated....TY all )

A friend of mine got serious about writing a few years ago, and started really pushing herself towards that goal. She was working on a novel and submitting short stories and poems everywhere she could... And it paid off. Her first book comes out in September, and she's contracted for the sequel, as well. And she's still doing poems and short stories all over the place, too.

So yeah, I've seen Richard's shared words in action, and I've seen them succeed.
