Posted - 10 Feb 2014 : 19:43:28 Tie to Godborn: Harpers discuss the fall of Sakkors; the Nameless One narrowly escaped Sakkors. Sairché and Magros mention Mephistopheles and the fallout of his schemes. Tie to Reaver: Stedd appears in both books Tie to Sentinel: The “Arietta” Brin mentions is Arietta Seasilver from The Sentinel Tie to the Herald: Dahl namechecks Elminster. (It’s not much)
I didn’t tie to The Companions so much as to the ongoing series. Things are getting hairy in Many-Arrows, and that’s how the Chosen of Asmodeus originally placed in Levistus’s control was killed.
Others: • The agent mentioned in Chapter Three, Lady Hedare, is Tennora from The God Catcher. • Dahl mentions Mira Zawad from Lesser Evils. • The Raedra Brin is engaged to is Princess Raedra Obarskyr (see “Cormyr Royale”) • The Fountains of Memory appear in the Lady Penitent Trilogy • Phalar is indeed a Chosen of Vhaeraun. Here’s a link to the full list of Chosen in a discussion: http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18594&whichpage=1
There are other things, but I don't know what counts as an Easter Egg. Any reference? Any collaborative reference? Some of them are never going to be clear. Like I worked out an NPC from the 2e Dalelands book for Tharra to be related to...but that's just kind of a thing I did to amuse myself.
Best, Erin

Posted - 05 Feb 2014 : 22:41:43 It doesn't explicitly say he's a Chosen of Vhaerun, but I think it's pretty overtly implied by the Phalar's personality and powers. |

Posted - 05 Feb 2014 : 21:52:44 I was wondering if Vhaerun was actually back, or if the Chosen of Vhaeraun was more like a vessel containing some of his divinity while he was dead similar to the Bhaal spawn or Cale/Riven/Rivalen/Mephistopholis(sp) holding Masks shards of divinity.
For sure these are Easter Eggs to the meta-story of the Sundering. Has anyone noticed much by way of connections between the three books thus far? Thay and Shade being in there like a dirty shirt is an obvious one...Shade having played a part in all three and the search for "chosen" by Shade playing a part in both The Companions and The Adversary. |

In The Adversary, there was a drow Chosen of Vhaeraun, so it seems like he's back. Does that count as an Easter Egg?
Not sure if the patron god being alive is a requirement for being a chosen. |

I know Phalar is a chosen, but of whom? I don't remember the book explicitly telling us who he's a chosen of, or any others in the camp. Only one's I remember being mentioned as chosen of are Farideh and Havilar (Asmodeus), The Nameless One (Shar), and Dahl being hinted at being a chosen (Oghma). |
