So after putting in another big day on the farm, I walk in the front door, and like the good husband I am go to open the basement door to check the furnace filter(it is the end of another month after all)..but what do my eyes see at the foot of the stairs?
My very ornate hand carved english book shelf........crammed with every FR, LOTR and Dresden Files hardback I own...it really is funny in a way, but hard not to be a little mad at the little lady! |

Be wary when attempting to build your own SageCave. It can be both a pleasant and horrifying experience for you and your lady friend.
I know from my own experiences when I first laid the foundations for my SageCave, both the Lady K and I spent months-to-almost-a-year hunting home renovation stores and other similarly themed locales looking for all manner of nicks and nacks that I could use as odd bookshelves, desks, pin-and-notice boards... and other general items that would make it somewhat like a BatCave with nerd and geek paraphernalia replacing the classic crime-hunting historical items that the Dark Knight stored in his own sanctum santorum.
It can be produce a great deal of pressure, and it can also generate a significant amount of frustration. But you both have to remember what the end result will bring -- a place where all your books, games, and other geek-related items can be placed into safe sequestration. 
Well I just showed the wife some vintage movie posters I've had my eye on and she's now on board with that idea  |

I wish I had a basement to make into a man cave... Sadly, living in this part of Florida makes that rather difficult.
You just need a very good sump pump I would think to keep it pumped out. *G*
Though EPA might be a problem as well for all that dirty water. |

I guess I'm lucky I have my own library. Which, come to think of it, I now have the need to expand. I left two rooms to its right vacant just for this eventuality. |

Well it has every realms hardback , every dragon lance hardback along with all of Tolkien, Sherlock Holmes and various other hardbacks.....with them removed the shelf is manageable by two people.....

All my books are in the basement anyway. I'd rather keep them in my man cave where they belong. My wife's Twilights and Sookie Stackhouses can stay upstairs. |
