Posted - 28 Dec 2010 : 20:59:48 I have seen O Loves timeline over at the FR Library, but the last it was updated was 2008 or something like that. Does anybody have a more recent list of all FR novels in a chronological order? |

Posted - 05 Jan 2011 : 23:30:21 I offer my own Salvatore chronological list, in my sig, and I have called on fans of other Realms authors to do likewise.
At least with RAS's stuff, there are a lot more time clues in there than most people realize. And they don't necessarily agree with the official dates that the publishers have imposed... |

Posted - 29 Dec 2010 : 02:49:10 In-Realms dating is a bit more challenging, since the events in the novels often overlap and tend to converge around (or be linked to) events in other Realms fiction (in other novels, in D&D game books, in other sources). There are also large gaps where "nothing" happens, or more accurately, where the only written chronology of events is presented later as an historical summary. |

Posted - 29 Dec 2010 : 01:19:58 Either or both, really, since we all seem to be lacking a coherent and up-to-date chronological listing for Realms novels.
Obviously, chronological listings are often harder to compile, given that not all anthologies/novels feature Realms dates. And you can't always judge where a novel falls in a chronological time-frame, based solely on its content.
But, in answer to your question, Thalian, I don't think an up-to-date listing actually exists. O-Love's wonderful site continues to update for new novel Realms, as I recall, so determining publishing order shouldn't be too difficult. Just look at the month/year release info for each novel.
Chronologically, however, that's a different story. |
