So I just receieved my copy that I scored on Amazon for $12 (including tax). A few questions though...

1. It is not supposed to have a jacket, correct?
2. Do the annotations have spoilers?

1 -- Correct.

2 -- Yes, for the most part. They do tend to expand on some of what was featured in each novel included in the Annotated Elminster format. So they bring up bits and pieces mentioned in the stories.
