Posted - 22 Jul 2010 : 11:43:15 Of those I read War in Tethyr was the only one I liked. But then I have read other books be Milan that I liked and any book with a Blue Öyster cult quote gets an extra point from me. As for the others. King Pinch was bearable, The Mage in the Iron mask was passable reading, but the idea was idiotic in the first place, so there is a limit to how good it could be. Council of Blades shares the place as my least favourite Realms novel (not counting the newer ones that I never finished)of all time with Pool of Radiance and Once Once Around the Realms. The other ones I never read. |

As for the others... it's been so long since I've read them, that I have actually forgotten what they were like. |

Posted - 21 Jul 2010 : 04:10:00 I have the Nobles books, but I've not read most of them. I really didn't like Escape From Undermountain, and King Pinch was only okay. War In Tethyr I couldn't finish... The rest I never even tried. It prolly didn't help that a bunch of the novels from around that timeframe were underwhelming, at best. |

Posted - 21 Jul 2010 : 03:28:10 I would rank them thusly :
1. The Simbul's Gift - I love anything about the WitchQueen of Aglarond (which always makes me think of Gimli and Legolas spelunking whenever I read Aglarond)
2. War in Tethyr - Zarandar Star, need I say more?
3. Escape From Undermountain - anything to do with Halaster's playground is good!
4. King Pinch - he is interesting enough for a novel.....barely
5. Council of Blades - just blah for me, but I heard some give it thumbs up.
6. The Mage in the Iron Mask - uggg.....The man in the iron mask set in the realms

So there is more than four Noble's books?
I found King Pinch, War in Tethyr, Escape from Undermountain, and The Mage in the Iron Mask.
I have been looking for Cormyr a Novel for awhile now.
I almost got it back when the 4E FRCG was released. It was at Borders brand spanking new. I figured I would get it later. Almost two years later, I should have bought the Cormyr novel, and picked up the FRCG later. I see them everywhere.
There are six.
The Simbul's Gift and The Council of Blades, I believe you still need. |

Posted - 21 Jul 2010 : 02:47:54 That is a great find, I too thoroughly enjoyed them all with the exception of Council of Blades...which took me months to work through. |

Good find!
Especially for the "Nobles" books. They're usually considered very rare.
And under-rated, I liked them all. Especially The Simbul's Gift.
