I have not read that yet, in fact it is one of the Realms novels I need to round out my collection. But I have heard that he is an interesting character. |

Posted - 30 Jun 2008 : 21:54:01 Yet another perk of the spellplague!! I am filling my missing books and came across this at my local half price books.
I liked it, it not in my top ten FR books, but it was good and funn reading. The Main character was a back stabbing, lying, cheating, theif....perfect for this series! Worked well for me because even though he ended up on top, it wasn't a "and they lived happily ever after" ending. You feel like he is going to set up shop in another "softer" city, and get himself in a heap of trouble again. |

Posted - 03 Oct 2003 : 17:13:39 Well I finished this novel at the beginning of this week, only took me about 3 days to read.
Quite enjoyed it, made a change to read of a small town out in a much undetailed area of the Realms (unless you have read Elminsters Everwinking Eye). The town of Oeble has quite an odd feel about it, certainly fit the series quite well.
As for the main character, I didnt like him! Thats not to say I didnt like the way the author had depicted him, far from it, I just think he wasnt a likable character...which again, fit the series well.....he was a backstabbing, double-crossing, scheming little #$&! Felt quite sorry for Kesk Turnskull, even though he was meant to be the big bad kingpin.
Good book, id give it around 7.5/10 |

Oeble is not a place I would want to live. Many thieves, many rouges. They leave their taint upon everyone, or so it seems. I didn't think there would ever be a place like this in the realms. 'Bout time.
Thats all your giving us.....,Arrgh,More,more....Please! |

Posted - 10 Sep 2003 : 07:20:52 I apologise . I have had my head in the collected tomes of Cicero's great works (hence the signature change) for so long now, that my Realms studies have fallen to the wayside (yet again...sigh ).
Thanks Rad .
