I think an anthology or even two (like Realms of Dragons)of short stories (or novellas) of some of the various character arcs that were just dropped with the development of the 4th edition changes would help alleviate some of the transition issues.
ie.
-Fall of Halruaa -Spellplague and the Seven Sisters -Underdark -Cormyr and the War Wizards -Any of ELaine cunninghams characters -Maztica disappearing -etc

I would love to see it happen, but I would give it about a .001% chance with wotc current direction. |
