Who would think a (crazed) Malarite could be a hero? This piece certainly has its problems, like the overuse of the unfamiliar word "necrotic" or not explaining what a “rot angel” was, but was a great read nonetheless. The descriptions of Jaeg thinking like the beast he became each time, even to the point of forgetting who he was, was wonderfully done. His creeping doubt about his patron god (or is that aspect or exarch nowadays?), but willingness to continue the hunt, no matter the cost, as well as the portrayal of his mind link to his horse, was a close second. For a first outing, I say well done Christopher! |

A nice read, good pacing, enough action( but not so much it was used as a crutch or to fill pages. A strangly likeable huntmaster....Not to mention a pair of kick ass halfling twins.... This little nugget has a lot of goodies to munch on! I liked it. I also appreciate that while then ending was a bit open....it didn't leave you feeling cheated, because you had enough closure to move on. Given the series Christopher's upcoming
