Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 02:48:51 I hate buying part of a series. I like to wait until they're all released, and read them all at once.
I recently bought 3 out of 4 of the Wizards series, and while waiting to find the other, I realized they could all stand alone. I believe trhe Harpers was like this, too.
What other current series can I read one at a time? |

Hey, hey now--I just added my two cents in the interest of helpfulness/completeness.
That I wrote three novels in the above mix is quite coincidental (only ONE of the series I mentioned, mind).

Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 17:04:43 Let's not forget some of the older series too, like The Cities, The Nobles, The Murder series, and--to a certain extent--the Elminster series. |

Hey, now, Alisttair, Ed doesn't have a novel in the Waterdeep series.
Yeah I know, I actually meant to point out that in his case, his name is on the covers so he is linked to it...realized my mistake half an hour after I made my post - you replied before I got a chance to come here and edit it lol |

Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 15:27:21 Hey, now, Alisttair, Ed doesn't have a novel in the Waterdeep series. And won't, from what I've heard him say at last GenCon. He wrote the "bible" for the series (a sort of non-fiction overview of what Waterdeep's like, post-Spellplague, that introduced new neighborhoods/wards like Mistshore and Downshadow, that I don't think will be published [except as REALLY edited down by Brian James to fit into the 4e FRCG), but won't write a novel. Pity. BB
Edit: spelling. |

Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 04:33:08 Thank you. I was wondering about Blackstaff Tower(I thought they were the same book, at first), in particular, I'm very glad to hear that it's a sequel. I saw at least one of the Fighters books, too.
Mr Byers, I just finished The Year Of Rogue Dragons and it was great. Thank you for about a week of quality indoor entertainment, so highy valued by me, in these cold winter months. |

Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 03:59:38 In addition to The Wizards, the publisher put out The Rogues, The Fighters, and The Priests, each a set of four stand-alone novels. |

Posted - 30 Jan 2009 : 03:26:26 "The Wilds" (only the first book has appeared) and "Ed Greenwood Presents Waterdeep," just to name two current series. The first book of Eddie Presents, BLACKSTAFF TOWER by Steven Schend, is a sequel to BLACKSTAFF, of The Wizards series, but you do not have to read one to enjoy the other. love, THO |
