Ive recently noticed starting in the prologue of the latest drizzt series and in nearly all of the latest novels ive read, that they're all set 100 years later than previous novels. does anyone know if this is going to be the norm from now on?

And, just in case you didn't know, the Spellplague and the timejump all have to do with the Realms being changed and (dare I say it?) remade for the 4th edition D&D ruleset.

Thanks o mighty sage, just wanted to confirm my suspicions. Blackstaff tower gave me hope in these new and dark times.

Pretty much. Most Realms novels now, are specifically set after the events of the Spellplague and into the 1479 DR era -- as we've seen with the recently released novels of the "Ed Greenwood Presents Waterdeep" series, and Rich Baker's Swordmage. Occasionally though, some authors might decide to provide some details on events that occured between 1375 DR and 1479 DR, such as Steven Schend in Blackstaff Tower for example.
