Posted - 24 Nov 2008 : 03:46:29 It involved a woman, I think it was an Elf, having a sword that drove her crazy every time she used it. Her friend the Geomancer (pretty sure he was a Dwarf) summoned an elemental Prince of Earth and they traveled about.
Then there was a guy of some sort who was related by some means to a crystal mining operation. The mined crystals were dug up and used as sort of prosthetic limbs, far greater than what human limbs were capable of. The problem was that the crystals were all linked to an old evil form of some sort and it could exhibit control over those with crystal implants, only the character I'm talking about could resist the influence. I think most of that is accurate.
Then there was another woman, this one from an old lost civilization that moved underground. I think it was Imaskar? No, Deep Imaskar.
The novel ended when all of the characters converged on a mysterious tower in some desert and slew an evil that controlled just about any mind it pleased, including that of a titan.
I don't know if that's any help, but I really want to find the title of this book, as I remember that I enjoyed it. |

It sounds like Bruce Cordell's Darkvision novel -- part of "The Wizards" series.
Wow, not even that old and I forgot it.
Thanks =D |
