My friend and I are at odds. I believe there was at least one novel in which a priest of Talos or a follower of Talos was a principal antagonist and he refutes this, stating that no Talassan cleric or follower has ever been a prominent character in a FR novel. Who is correct? We both have been reading FR novels since Darkwalker on Moonshae but we are in total disagreement over this.

Any help would be appreciated.

No, you're thinking of a completely different person--I think her name was Sydney.

-Nope. Wizard 18 / Cleric 9 (2e stats, of course).

Ahhhh...thanks! I'm at work and don't have the material to look at!

Maybe few people (authors or novel "directors" at WotC) ever thought of it? Who knows...

Destruction is part of the balance of life. If those praying are unworthy of the power then they deserve the end cycle of said balance.

Thank you for the replies so far. I keep thinking that the second Moonshae trilogy, the Druidhome trilogy, had a priest of Talos as one of the principal villains in it but it has been so long since I last read it I can not recall.

Edit: AH! I thought it was the second Moonshae trilogy.

Now I have to ask why we do not see more Talassans in FR novels.

Doesn't the last book of House of Serpents feature talos worshipers who have been tricked into sacrificing themselves?
Hawkins Posted - 04 Nov 2008 : 18:01:15
Druid Home Trilogy, the first book has a priest of Talos as the main antagonist I believe.
Lord Karsus Posted - 04 Nov 2008 : 17:46:59
-I only remember vaguely, but I indeed do remember a follower of Talos as being featured as an antagonist in Forgotten Realms literature.

I don't recall them figuring prominently, but there were a couple clerics of Talos in Paul S. Kemp's Twilight trilogy going on right now.
