Victory!
Today, up in a far northern remote outpost of Vancouver Island, I came across a used book store which had [drumrolls...] 14 issues of the FR comic (ranging from issue 2 to 25). Bagged all 14 promptly, and threw in the druidhome novel trilogy by Douglas Niles; ALL OF THIS FOR $25!!!!!! (haggled down from the vendor's initial bargain of $50...)
I think this represents a good application of both the Search and Diplomacy skills...

You can have it for whatever it costs to ship it to you, but I think you may be able to get it cheaper than that if you are lucky enough to find one in Canada, haven't shipped anything up there in a while so not sure what it would cost.
I'll pay the shipping cost. I'll send you the address in a week or so, as I'm now out of the door going on a camping trip to the Oregon coast. See you in a week!

Not a whole lot... I think I spent $50 or $60 to replace all of the issues for both titles. |

Man, I wish someone could clear up the licensing on all of this so that they could put out compilations, especially given how well those sell these days. |

37 for AD&D, 25 for FR. FR was kind of a spin-off of AD&D. |

he was and I whole heartedly agree with your assessment of the books. Although I liked the elf cleric and the kara-tur warrior, I didn't like the lead mage all that much |

I got a lot on ebay that in addition to several DL, 2 Ad&d also had FR 1-25 and the annual. In fact I have 2 of number #1 if anyone needs that one just let me know.
Does anyone know how many where are in total? |

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons was another of the DC/TSR comics. It predated the Forgotten Realms title. AD&D was set mostly in Waterdeep, and focused on Vajra Valmeyjar (a former gladiator slave of Manshaka), Timoth Eyesbright (a centaur warrior), Onyx the Invincible (a dwarf fighter/rogue), and Kyriani (a half-drow wizard babe, half-sister to Priam Agrivar). In the early issues was also a guy named Conner, an older human rogue. A lot of stuff happened around their favorite Dock Ward tavern, Selūne's Smile, which was run by the matronly Luna -- who eventually was revealed to be an avatar of Selūne.
Vajra, Onyx, and Timoth eventually joined the Reclamation and are now nobles and military leaders in Tethyr. Kyri stayed in Waterdeep and eventually became one of its Lords. Those bits are Realms canon.
I actually enjoyed AD&D more than FR, though both comics were really good. And unless I am quite mistaken, Jeff Grubb was at the helm of both. In the Realms of anthologies, he did a couple of short stories about a bit character he intro'ed in AD&D, the somewhat inept Tertius Wands and his djinni, Ampi. |

As for the FR Comics, I'm halfway through them so far, and I love the focus on Halruaa!!! wow! this stuff is really cool!
Jeff Grubb rocks! this comic actually did a great job at conveying that good old "Realms" feeling!!! |

Honestly, I didn't like that picture. It didn't match, in skintone, hair, or clothing, any of the other artwork we've seen of her.
I think my fave artwork of her was when she dropped the illusion at the end of issue 23 of AD&D (the Lawyers! issue). Of course, Onyx's reaction to finding out who his wife really was was also classic. |
