Just curious on what parts of Faerun have not been used in novels. I can't recall much being mentioned about the Shaar plains, Luiren, Lapaliiya, Dambrath come to mind. |

The Emerald Scepter features an sea elven hideout in the Vilhon Reach. Venom's Taste takes place in Hlondeth.

I thought the Jewel of Turmish was actually pretty poor as a source of detail about Alaghon, or Turmish as a whole. In spite of being part of the Cities series, most of the book was actually spent out in the woods!
Ah yes, the romance. Makes sense.
I'd forgotten about the Scions of Arrabar, might pick that up actually (as I have my own plans involving Wianar)

The House of Serpents trilogy actually does spend one novel in Sespech. The Scions of Arrabar trilogy takes place in Chondath.

There were Crinti warriors in C&K, even if the series never actually went to their homeland. So, you do get a glimpse of the culture of Dambrath if not the actual land. |

Aye. I must admit, it's been quite a while since I read those books. I do recall the few odd and brief references to Dambrath though, and it's largely the only novel source that immediately comes to mind when thinking about the region.
Still, I consider it a worthwhile mention.

There was a short story starring Llewellyn (sp?) the Loquacious that took place on the Shaar plains--it was in one of the earlier "Realms of" anthologies, I think Realms of Magic.
The short story by Lisa Smedman in Realms of War took place in ancient Luiren. |

C&K has only a few references but I would not got so far as to say that it actually has much of the books attention or gives much of a discription of this land.
Anyway, I have just read this trilogy so my memory is quite vivid yet:
I recall that Luiren has benn mentioned in those books as well, but even fewer times than Dambrath.

As for Dambrath, see Elaine Cunningham's "Counselors and Kings" trilogy.
