Posted - 11 Dec 2007 : 18:01:43 I was rather disappointed with the Realmslore included in Into the Void (The Cloakmaster Cycle, book 2; and the only one set in the Realms). There was very little in this book that was Realms specific. One half to two thirds of the book was spent traveling to Realmspace, and very little of the book seemed Realms-specific. The best part of the book Realmslore-wise (IMO) was that they have a map of an active spelljammer port in on Toril.
Realmslore aside, I actually enjoyed the book, and so far am enjoying the Cloakmaster Cycle overall. |

Posted - 14 Dec 2007 : 23:07:00 Two or three very significant characters who recur in the series are from Toril or elsewhere in Realmspace. If nothing else, the series shows that as soon as space travel is mastered, one of its first priorities is to ship liquor from one crystal sphere to another!

Posted - 12 Dec 2007 : 18:38:32 Lol. Thanks Brian! I had a feeling it might with Elaine at the helm (pun unintended but funny anyways). And I am enjoying the series. I got the whole lot off of eBay for 14 USD, which is a lot less than if I had bought it off of Amazon used. I will have to give my thoughts on The Radiant Dragon when I finish it then. |

Posted - 12 Dec 2007 : 02:22:42 I have this novel but haven't read it yet . It seems similar to "Vampire of the Mists" which has a little bit of FR lore also - Merrydale/Daggerdale - still worth a read though. |
