Wizard of the Coast released the following images:

- "The Gossamer Plain": First of the Empyrean Odyssey trilogy
- "Scream of Stone": Last of the Watercourse trilogy
- "Best of the Realms, Book III": Best of Elaine

Thanks to zau, who found those pictures.

A note to all fellow webmasters: Please note the title correction of Thomas' new trilogy, it's "empyrean" now...

Lol, I can't do it...too many bad jokes crowded into my head at once, I can't even go there. ;)

But I agree wholeheartedly, the covers are great.

I noticed that, myself.

Indeed -- those are pretty snazzy. With very much that life-like *fear* quality you might find on horror movie posters.

Quite a coincidence that three of the covers depict blondes, no? All of them in very different postures and clearly very different characters -- you can tell just by looking.

Well done, Erik -- you seem to have presented three women of similar stature (the athletic sort of build, the hair-color, adventurers) and in similar contexts (dark, dungeon-delving, etc), yet maintained them as separate, unique characters, with stories all their own.

Good show!

Cheers

.....

(Maybe she WASN'T kidding about the "romantic lead" bit.)

Oooh, I like.

Maybe we can get Rosemary to identify hers . . .

Looking forward to it!

We are eagerly awaiting the next covers, first and foremost for the yet to be named third novel.

You definitely made this writer happy. Just ask Erik, when I saw Howling Delve's cover for the first time, I was completely jazzed. :)

Wow, Erik... that is a great cover!

I liked your other art as well - you really know how to use perspective to add depth to a picture! And welcome to Candlekeep on my behalf, too!

Well met

Whenever you're free to show the finished art for the other books, remember to stop by here and let us know, Erik

I must say that I find the art for The Howling Delve to be quite...nightmarish Eerie!

Well met, Erik, and welcome to Candlekeep.

Thanks for the update, i'll get this changed on the novel page on the site

Are there to be any other FR novel covers (or other WotC novels) that you'll be working on in the future?

I am currently finishing off the last two Dungeons covers and I have done three Ravenloft covers that will be coming out over the next year. Hopefully there will be more coming.

Lord Rad: The cover, assuming that ends up being the final, pleases me greatly. I wanted something striking--I got it and then some. But if you want a little teaser for the book, my favorite detail about the cover is not the figure, but what appears in the background. ;)

Tis hard to tell what's in the background (pictures of dragons?), but that...guy looks like he's carrying a ball of yarn.

Yeah, I wanted Daniel Craig to model for the cover, but he was busy with that whole 007 gig. ;)

Probably your old avatar for Rumplestiltskin (not the current one).

Blame WotC, Dargoth, not me. I could write, at a minimum, two Forgotten Realms novels per year, but most years, WotC only wants one from me.
Reefy Posted - 14 Dec 2006 : 22:49:38
The Swords of Dragonfire one looks cool, definitely want to check out a colour version.

Interesting Lisa's putting out 2 of her novels from the lady Pentitient trilogy in 1 year....

See it can be done!!!

I love the cover for The Gossamer Plain. It looks like it's by the same artist who did Voyage of the Mourning Dawn (Eberr...).

Elaine's anthology is very nice too and i'm glad they've kept the same style as Ed's anthologies.

Whilst the Sembia covers are ok (i'm not too much of a fan of Swanland's art....it's good, but it's a certain flavor that I think would be best in Ravenloft rather than the Realms), I prefer the original covers.

Don't like the Scream of Stone cover, but I didn't like the previous two either.

Jaleigh, what are your thoughts on the cover? Is it as you had hoped? Does it portray the book well?
