Hi all

Is there a source book that covers Shade? If there is I have missed it and would like to know what to look for.

If not are there any plans to write one?

I'll second that emotion

Going back to the first post..........

As I asked at the start of this thread, I have got another copy of Lord's of Darkness ( Thanks for the reminder Sage, and Wooly, That guy you mentioned, he found another copy for me )

Now I have read the section on Shade, I am left wanting more (A WotC trick I assume!)

So my next question is: Where else do I turn for more source? & Does anyone know of a book from WotC detailing this area more fully due to come out!?

Footnote Request to WotC designers and writers.

MAKE A SOURCE BOOK ON SHADE PLEASE!

Cheers
Delz

I love the shade stuff. It's the drow stuff I can't stand anymore.

Well, I could have stood more Pharaun Mizzrym. But an upcoming trilogy about Hallistra Melarn?

You're looking at it in the wrong way. It should be: An upcoming trilogy written by Lisa Smedman!

here here!

Why do we need an extra dimentional threat when there is a great one just waiting under the surface?

I don't love the Shade stuff, but it does need to be expanded upon more fully.
I'll agree with that.

Especially, I'd like to see more expanded details on the Shades and their time away from the Realms.

I, too, am tired of the focus on drow. I totally failed to see what was so special about the WotSQ books -- I know some folk absolutely loved them, but when I was reading them, I was wondering when it was going to get interesting. While I do share most people's like of Pharaun Mizzrym, he was the only aspect of the series that I enjoyed.
Gromph had his moments... but again, I'll agree about Pharaun.

You know I can't say I agree. I've gotten a lot of traction in my Realms Campaign with Shade and I enjoyed reading about the place and its inhabitants in Schend's novels (looking forward to Kemp's Shadowbred too).

I suppose from a purist's perspective it's 100% unpalatable and I respect that.

But I can't argue with the fun I've had using Shade and the enjoyment I've gotten from reading about it.

Agreed...although some RSEs are better off forgotten.
Mace Hammerhand Posted - 24 Dec 2006 : 13:25:48
Actually, I'm surprised Wizards hasn't expanded on the issue. The RSEs do introduce HUGE playgrounds, and then they discard them again. At least with the Time of Troubles and Empires trilogies you had follow up information/material to work with. None of the recent RSEs have this kind of depth to it anymore. One would think that an RSE would be the start of a bunch of companion items like adventures, sourcebooks etc., and one would also think that marketing would consider these things.

Bummer. It's be nice to have something more comprehensive (and how many times have one of our number said that, eh?).

There's this one guy who has a thread selling Realms stuff... You should talk to him; he may have a copy.

I should really read things before I sell them!!!!!

I must admit I didn't read that one, But in all fairness I have only just got interested in Shade after reading Shadowbred, so I'll have to get another copy of Lords of Darkness then.

Thanks Sage
