Posted - 14 Dec 2006 : 15:43:02 Hi all,
I was wondering about the suggested plotlines in PoF (e.g. the Ascension of Amaunator). Is there any indication as to how "canon" is this. Are they just suggestion for each DM to use in their game (which is cool in itself) or are they also actual plotlines that will be referenced to in future products and will become an actual part of the Realms?
I'd ask Eric on his thread, but I have been away for a long while and would not want to over-burden him with something that might have already been cleared elsewhere or that I missed. So thanks a lot for helping me out if the answer to this is already somewhere out there. If not I'll ask him.

Posted - 18 Dec 2006 : 23:44:14 I guess Old Moldy is going to be causing problems again, then... It'll be interesting to see how that one plays out. I just hope it means we can get another novel out of Jeff Grubb and Kate Novak, since he's been their plaything. |

Posted - 18 Dec 2006 : 21:14:45 Ok: Rich Baker has answered my question on WotC's Forum.
The events described in PoF are all considered canon and will be used as baseline next time they revisit the respective geographical areas.

Posted - 17 Dec 2006 : 15:20:42 they are Suggested that for sure ... but at the same time i wouldn't be surpriced if someone gets the idea to incorperate some of them into officel novels (and thereby making them done and canon) |

I hope George is right (seems he usually is; he he he) about the Risen Sun heresy. I really like that plotline and that's what prompted me to ask in the first place.
I'll drop a line later over at WotC to see what Rich Baker would say. He seems to be away lately, hope he replies

Posted - 15 Dec 2006 : 08:01:27 I say yes theyre canon inasmuch as weve been getting more in other books about these same topics.
Of course all that really matters (to me) is how much each topic is featured in actual play.

Posted - 14 Dec 2006 : 23:54:34 I do remember this being brought up in the PoF discussion here at Candlekeep.
The opinions offered were that they are in fact "suggested plot lines" for individual campaign expansion, more than a reflection of true future, and official, Realmslore.

Posted - 14 Dec 2006 : 21:39:49 I'd assume they are suggestions, but they are detailed enough that I would not be surprised if it is assumed they get resolved somewhere down the line, much like old adventure modules. I however, must emphasize that I have no knowledge of how WotC or Eric plan on treating them. |

Posted - 14 Dec 2006 : 20:13:44 I agree with Wooly and Kuje...sourcebooks are designed to have a lot of suggestions that prospective DMs can use or discard as they see fit. |

That's my thinking, as well. But I would go ahead and ask Eric, for confirmation. |
