You'll be pleased to learn that we have an Undermountain adventure on the schedule for next year. There's a good chance that we will also have an Anauroch adventure which may or may not refer to Netherese ruins; too early to say much on that one yet.

It's in the direct vicinity of the two other modules and the Shades might be linked to events aimed at undermining the Weave...

Posted - 19 Dec 2006 : 02:30:31 Do you think the Anauroch adventure could be part 3 of the Cormyr/Shadowdale/??? trilogy? Seems reasonably logical... |

Still heard nothing about Anauroch, but in a post dated today, Rich Baker confirms an upcoming adventure set in Undermountain (it will probably be for the second half of the year as it is not included in the publication schedule for the first two quarters).

Actually I wouldnt bet on that, the WOTC publication scheduele seems to be incomplete. We know that theres a DDM set coming out in July could Night Below and yet it hasnt appeared on the site |

Posted - 18 Sep 2006 : 20:14:48 An Undermountain adventure will be nice. It would be nice to have some of the un-released core levels (rather than have another sub-level)....also an Anauroch adventure sounds fun...too bad the characters in my campaign have finally, after one year real time, left the desert. |

I did the same. But yeah, here's hoping for a boxed set (especially since my friend borrowed UM1 and the box is in bad shape now :( ah well)
When I started collecting FR stuff, I was a teenager, and my dad's wife was very anti-D&D. So I didn't keep stuff in boxes, and subsequently, I've lost many of the original boxes. And even the ones I do have, I don't use -- all of the books, cardstock sheets, and maps are in polybags. The books are all on a shelf, while all the maps and cardstock sheets are in a larger box.
My habit of putting plain brown book covers on my D&D books also stems from this time frame. A D&D box she would see, but stick the books in a folder or a cover on the hardcovers, and I could leave them in plain sight without her noticing.

That woman is far more evil than Lolth, Loviatar and Umberlee combined. |

I'm also betting on the UnderMountain booking being an "Expedition to UnderMountain" book in that line as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Erik Mona is assigned to the book, since he has hinted his last project had to do with an Inn, and that WOTC has been tapping the Dungeon writing pool for their new modules.
Considering the upcoming Expedition to Ravenloft (which I am looking forward to; I've got the original I6 module) book, I think it likely that the Undermountain product will be something similar. |

Undermountain boxed set....ooooh, sweetness.
Wouldn't it be cool if they filled the thing to the brim with books, maps, and some battlemaps in addition to all the rest. If you look at the old Undermountain boxed set, or any other boxed set for that matter, there were still a couple of cms to fill.
Not in mine there aren't. My Ruins of Undermountain boxed set also has the Skullport accessory inside it while Ruins of Undermountain II has the three Dungeon Crawl modules by Steven.
That's why I loved the boxed sets.

Posted - 01 Sep 2006 : 17:28:56 I'll add my vote in for a new Undermountain boxed set. Bring back Undermountain!
Come to think of it, a new Myth Drannor set/book (covering the changes brought about by the elves in Final Mythal), maybe soemthing like the old Ruiins of Phlan adventure, would also be well received. |

Nay,
The Undermountain product was a stand alone product that is different then those three connected modules. :) |

Or, might this be the product that Eric Mona has hinted that he's working on - one that prominently features an inn near the beginning... |

Posted - 23 Aug 2006 : 18:45:57 Well met
This is absolutely wonderful news. I agree, it would be a great 20th Anniversary present to the Realms to release this product as a box set. If it were to be a hardcover tome, however, anything less than...say...600 pages wouldn't do the place justice |

Posted - 23 Aug 2006 : 18:43:05 As what I suspect is the code for this product has appeared on Random House lists, it's gotta be a book, not a boxed set. I'm expecting a large-pagecount hardcover. And WotC would be foolish not to have Ed and Eric Boyd or Steven schend co-writing, probably with other designers. Yum. |

My hope is that it also provides a nice 3E update, in a more complete and flavorful manner than the Return to Undermountain series of articles.

I fully agree with you, Wooly. Specially, in the part of "Ed or Steven writing it."
And a new Undermountain in an old style boxed set? U-huuuuuu |

But, yes, boxed sets are nice in that they save you space, and are good tools to whack your players as well |

Some area specific battlemaps to use with minis in related encounters... |

Posted - 23 Aug 2006 : 01:30:15 Well..... WOTC did say that they would do box sets sometimes.... if you are gonna do Undermountain, how the hells can you fit even level 1 into 160 pages!
So, we might be surprised and get a box set out of it instead. :) |

Posted - 23 Aug 2006 : 01:16:21 Now the 54,000 Dollar question is: How big will the module be 32 or 160 pages?
Wouldnt it be cool if they made the Undermoutain module 20th aniversary product for the FR and they went all out and made it a 320 page product........... |

Posted - 23 Aug 2006 : 01:10:50 No,
