Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 08:01:53 I just recieved On Hallowed Ground and Monster Mythology and currently own 2 of the 3 of the "big three" FR Deities sourcebooks. The only one I don't have is Demihuman Deities. I noticed that in both On Hallowed Ground and Monster Mythology contain information about Elven, Dwarven, Halfling, and Gnome deities, and in Monster Mythology it even goes on to mention how they mostly remain constant in Faerūn.
So my I guess my main question here is if Demihuman Deities is worth it? I notice it is rather large (192 pages excites me) and money is no big deal at the moment now that I found out most of my next year in college will be payed for.
I know I should probably just go out and buy it because it will be great just like the other two. But wanted to come here first and get some opinions. |

I'll have to search for it once, I have cash flow again. Been a lousy year for me, but then again it is in my astrology for the next 2 years or so Then things are supposed to improve...
Yeah, On Hallowed Ground has been amazing for me. I especially love the detailed maps
I got mine on DragonStrove for 20 dollars, so it's not too bad. Especially considering how useful it is. The one on ebay is listed at 45.00 for Buy-it-Now, so I'd suggest shopping around and seeing if you can get a better price first. |

Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 11:30:02 Oh yes, this book is definitely worth the price. In many ways I think the book is the best of the three deity books when it comes to presenting the faiths. Monster Mythologi has a charm of its own, but this book is more Realms specific and shows the beliefs of each race in a much clearer picture. |

Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 11:16:34 What the first two books did for the human pantheons, this book does for the drow, dwarf, elf, gnome, and halfling pantheons. It's worth every penny. |

Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 08:48:44 Thanks. Like I said, if Faiths and Avatars and Powers and Pantheons are any testament, then this will be a great book. I just thought I'd come and get the sages at Candlekeep's opinion on it before I made the purchase. |

Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 08:43:19 I agree, it's worth it cause some of it is FR specific and it also expands on the deities, thier church, dress, rituals, history, dogma, etc. :) |

Posted - 26 Jun 2006 : 08:05:26 Its got a lot of Realms specific information in it. Yeah, the general power levels and alignment and all of that can be found elsewhere, but a few gods have specifically Realmsian quirks, and there are a few companions/heroes/creatures that are detailed as part of Realmslore that aren't mentioned in the non-Realms sources. Its definately worth the extra dollars. |
