I am preparing some handouts for my players and I would like to print the documents on the same background image used for the official WoTC FR books. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this image?

Thanks.

I sent a *sending* to Big Al, but I think it got lost/killed somewhere along the way. I'll try again when I have my laptop connected to the internet again...maybe this weekend?

Thank you, Xnella. This will prove quite useful.

So, Sage...is whatever project you're using the rice-paper for at the top or bottom of your infamous "To-Do" list?

Somewhere around the "middle," actually.

Does it really matter? Top or bottom, things on his list remain there so long the time is best described in half-lives.

And how long is a half-life on Sage's "To-Do" list?

And just for curiosity's sake, is there any other page backgrounds/other pics that people want me to pull from my D&D Books, provided I have the book in question? Just send me a pm/email with the book, page number and picture/background to be pulled and I'll do my best.

Oooo! I like the rice-paper parchment from the 3e OA tome. Can't wait for this.
Xnella Moonblade-Thann Posted - 25 Nov 2012 : 20:19:34
I have some rice-paper pages from the Oriental Adventures 3e book, and am currently trying to get it up on 4shared into the file I already have with other D&D page backgrounds. Bear with me, as my laptop may be working but the connection I'm using is iffy at best.
Xnella Moonblade-Thann Posted - 01 Sep 2012 : 10:45:43
I've heard nothing from Alaundo, so I have uploaded the pages I currently have to 4shared (http://www.4shared.com/zip/8g7bXOJX/DD_Page_Backgrounds.html). It is a .zip file with all pages as individual .jpeg files (just insert them into microsoft word/open office and make it a background object so you're text will show). If the link doesn't work, then let me know and I'll try to fix it! I will add others to the file when I get them done (and it seems that my to-do list is getting almost as long as Sage's, what with all the things I have to do just to stay afloat )

Is there any way I mayhap be able to upload my D&D page backgrounds for everyone to download here at the 'Keep? I have a .zip file that contains all the pages I've been working on as .jpeg files for such a purpose. Although these are my "creations", so to speak , I feel that it would benefit many scribes here if they wish to use these as backgrounds for their campaign handouts.

Unless you send it directly to Alaundo [see the address in his profile] for inclusion on the site [and assuming it's all legally allowed], you'll need to upload it to one of the more popular [and free] upload sites.

Candlekeep functionality currently doesn't allow for file attachments/downloads on posts.

Sorry.

Hey, I have no problem going the long way to do something to help the other scribes here. If I need to do a few hundred things just to get it up, so be it. It'll be tomorrow at the earliest though before I can get it up on some free upload site (I have one in mind, but I'm afraid that it'll get lost there), so off to Alaundo it goes (I hope)!

I have the "parchment" background used in the FRCS/PGtF books. I also have other D&D rulebook page backgrounds (blank parchment from the title pages & left- and right-pages from the PH/DMG/MM; working on more ). They are currently in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 format, but I can save 'em as a .pdf file for those interestied (either alone or all the backgrounds together, just let me know which you want). You can email me at princesanjl(at)yahoo(dot)com and I'll send it out to those interested.

EDIT: Apparently, my stupid computer is making Photoshop act all wonky, so I can only save the backgrounds as individual files. I think the computer gremlins are at it again. But I do have the web-enhancement backgrounds done, so at least that worked out! -edited August 23, 11:46 EST

I'll have to check with Big Al. I can't recall at the moment, whether it was uploaded to the site proper.

Thanks to all that posted. I exported the background image and saved it as the left page. I then took this image and created a mirror version which gave me the right page. Creating a pdf with both images, and printing duplex, I was able to create a blank journal.

Thanks again to everyone who posted. If you want a copy of the FR Journal (as I've come to call my creation) let me know.

Well met

Aye, I'd certainly be happy to take a look, rom90125. Is this a journal of thy adventures or mainly handouts for a campaign. Of course, i'd be happy to host them for ye herein, if ye wish to share them with others

Sage, Wooly or Big Al, Do you know if this is hosted on the site somewhere. I would love a copy of this for a project of mine.

Oh might Alundo, I have searched the stacks for this scroll you have mentioned, and it is here:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mapofweek/paper.zip

However, it is not the FR parchment that you seek.

Hope this helps.

Let us know when it will be open to public inspection in the shelves of Candlekeep. I am interested as to what to expect........

I have submitted FRJournal to the librarian of Candlekeep for review.

rom90125, just export all images from one of the FR PDFs from the WotC website and you'll end up with the background as a .jpeg image. If you have any trouble, send me an email at eremite(underscore)the(at)hotmail(dot)com and I'll email you a word file with the background image already inserted.

In Acrobat Professional 6.0, at least, you use the "Touchup Text Tool" from the Advanced Editing-buttons (which can be turned on via the Tools -> Advanced Editing roll down menu, or directly from the Tools -> Advanced Editing roll down.
rom90125 Posted - 09 Jun 2006 : 14:36:03
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional, but I don't know how to delete the text from a page so that I'm left with the background image...can anyone help?
Kajehase Posted - 08 Jun 2006 : 20:49:40
Otherwise, if you have a program with which to manipulate pdfs - just delete the text from one of the pages in a web enhancement and save it in a picture-format.
