Is it the same racial traits for the skulk in Forgotten Realms ?
quote: Peerless Camouflage (Ex) : Skulks can move at full speed (and can even run) while hiding, taking no penalties on Hide checks due to movement.
1) A skulk take penalty to move faster than one-half her normal speed on Move Silently checks, no ?
2)Can a skulk take the regional feat swift and silent (from Player's Guide to Faerūn p.45) ?
As the prerequisite, there are only the human (Uthgardt Tribesfolk)for the human in english PGtF, but in my french PGtF, there are also humain (Old Shanatar). 3)Is it an error or not ?
In my french version, the description for Old Shanatar : Many human generations from calimshan and Lake of Steam has been enslaved by the beholders from Zolkir and the drow from Guallidurth. Many escaped in the wild, led by Ibrandul. However, they live always in the darkness country that constitue today their home.
4)If I remember me correctly, the skulk linked with Ibrandul, no ?
5)Are there skulk elsewhere ? Waterdeep ? Are there informations about the Skulk in Underdark or an other book of the 3rd edition ?
6)What is the personnality for a skulk ?
Thanks for your future answer. |

Yes they are. See Ibrandul's entry in Faiths & Avatars and Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark.

Drakkalor, as noted in Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, is largely a domain for skulks. Skulks also reside in the beholder city of Zokir. There are skulks also in the eastern caverns of Alatorin.
Also, the entry for Drakkalor in Underdark also references the community of skulks still living there.

Posted - 30 Apr 2006 : 06:16:50 I don't remember any references to Skulks in Underdark, and I don't know that any other 3.5 material has picked up on the characters, but Skulks did exist in earlier editions of the game, so they aren't exactly brand new, and there may be references in earlier edition works, if only in encounter charts. I would imagine they are easier to include in the Realms than some of the truly new races that have been created in the Races series.
That having been said, I would say that the humans of Old Shanatar have not been wandering the Underdark long enough to have altered too greatly, and the Skulks are mentioned as having undergone a specific magical transformation, so I would assume they are two different groups of people. Skulks are likely humans that were taken to the Underdark perhaps even farther back in time than the humans slaves in Old Shanatar.
I am not sure about what your copy of the Player's Guide to Faerun has in it, but the Old Shanatar region for human characters was left out of the english version but can be seen in the errata that WOTC has on its site, for anyone that is interested.
I imagine that Skulks, as formerly human creatuers living in the Underdark, could very easily worship Ilbrandul. |
