Posted - 14 Jul 2004 : 13:04:20 Mr Reid, how are you intending on representing the one-third of the Halruan population that are said to be able to cast one first level spell? If I recall correctly, in the original Shining South tome, these members of Halruan society were treated as dual-classed characters. It is said that they have the (and I should point out that I'm directly quoting from the SS tome) "abilities of 1st-level mages along with whatever class they have chosen".
How will this be represented in 3e? Now, I understand that you can't reveal much, but could you at least let us know whether some kind of feat (bloodline or otherwise), skill, or some type of new rule is involved?

Aye, there's a regional feat in the Player's Guide that does that. :)
Yep, Arcane Schooling takes care of that issue nicely.

Thanks for the clarification Kuje, and to you as well Mr Reid . Consequently, I came across the details of the feat myself, last night. It's just at the time of posting, I wasn't completely sure of the specifics since I didn't have access to my books.
