I'm getting back into roleplaying and the realms for the first time in a good while, and I'm putting together a collection of Realms based expansions and flavour products from 1e up to the present day.
There's one thing I can't find though. Has anyone archived any of the columns from the old Wizards of the Coast/Forgotten Realms website in PDF form - especially Ed Greenwood's Realmslore column?
I've found them saved from the demise of the site online in a couple of places, but it would be handy to have them collated in a PDF document to save.
I suppose this is something I could put together myself, but at 100-odd individual pages, it'd save a devil of a lot of time if someone had already done it. |

I think I got all 92 Realmslore articles into one PDF.

They came from here, I noticed a previous link posted above was broken....

I haven't checked in on this for ages, so I'm sorry I'm late to reply, but this is brilliant, thank you!

Posted - 22 May 2021 : 05:28:21 Don't know if it's what you're looking for, but there's some Ed articles from the Forging the Realms series he wrote for WotC's website at the link in my signature. |

Did that go to something specific beyond maybe a splash page for "lore" in general? The URL 404'd. I wasn't sure if going to the main page would get me to where that original link went or not.
Best regards,

Is there someplace you could store it so that is accessible by us? I don't believe I have all of them, either.
I'm unfortunately not that tech savvy.

Posted - 08 Aug 2020 : 11:21:23 Looks like the answer is that only the Elminster Speaks column was ever archived in a way that's publicly downloadable as a single file.
If I do get around to turning all the Realmslore columns into a PDF, I'll host and share it somewhere. |

Posted - 08 Aug 2020 : 07:13:23 Try Realms Help - https://www.realmshelps.net/faerun/lore/index.shtml. I have found a number of the articles, including images and maps, easily available from this site.

Link is good, it's the Forgotten Realms Wiki, which has been around for 15 years or so, and is a great repository of information. I'm not sure what browser you're using, or if it my be anti-spam or VPN software that would be blocking it, but I've never had a problem, even with Adblock Plus installed. |

Posted - 07 Aug 2020 : 21:44:17 Ah, well, this is very much my point. I feel very lucky to find them still online at all but I'm hoping for a complete bind up in PDF as it's easier to read, save and search. It may be something I put together myself but I thought I'd see if it was out there anywhere first.

Pending an answer, the Elminster Speaks column was archived on the WotC site itself in an 89 page PDF, and there's an active link to a functioning download from the Forgotten Realms wiki article: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Elminster_Speaks
I had entirely forgotten about that. I wish they'd done that with some of the other article series.
Agreed. There were several that I thought were good from the online articles. Gone now I imagine.
A lot of it's still there, if you can just find a link to it. It's one of the issues I have with their web team -- they constantly rearrange the site, and they never update any links. I know for a fact that there are files on their site from 2000 that you can still download if you know the URL -- but the URLs haven't been posted anywhere on their site since like 2001 or 2002. |
