It's not that hard to find. I've purchased it two or three times, myself, and I see them pop up on eBay at least a couple times a month. |

Alisttair, I have placed a note alongside my own copy. "Alisttair at Candlekeep 2010.3.10 send message about I3, I4, I5"
I would hope to have a I3, I4, I5 trilogy by then, but I can't guarantee that they will have a copy of 'The Curse of King Tut's Tomb' to go along with them. I try to keep a few of those in stock: when I gather together a trilogy, or a series, I usually like to send something special to go along with it, if possible.
Maybe I should make a note here. I3, I4, I5 do contain art that is not in the I3-5 compilation. They (I3, I4, I5) predate publication of the Realms, and do not contain any written Realmslore. Posted - 13 Mar 2009 : 06:47:36 Wooly Rupert: FR4 The Magister was a nice book. If you are a real die-hard collector, FR4 doesn't include all of the original art that was in Dragon magazine (a lot of those items were from Dragon, for those who didn't know). I used to run a FR site called Virtual Fantasy, and there was a page called FR4, which eventually branched out into about 50 different pages. I'm more into 1e/UA these days, instead of pure FR, but I am definitely still into the 1e FR lore. (Check out p.173 of the 1eDMG: if I could, I would make an interactive template map of the FR0 map, scaled to 1 mile per square, add random terrain generation scripts, and then send the template over to Candlekeep, so that you gals and guys could continue from where the FR Atlas left off). Another thing I would love to do (which is more realistic, in the sense that it's within my limited technical skills, is to make webpages for all of the characters that appeared in the FR1e books. Turn to page Page 100 of the 1eDMG. You can get an idea of what the stat blocks would look like. Then, they would get filled in, with references). Although I'm just limiting myself to 1e at the moment (a fun reading adventure, for me), when I left off on Virtual Fantasy, the concept that I had going was FR+1e (basically, any official FR source + the 11 1e books. No 2e, 3e, 4e. Just something interesting to contemplate, and probably best ported to another thread).

Posted - 10 Mar 2009 : 19:04:00 All good things come to those who wait (or who have a lot of money). I added Secrets of the Magister last week for a very reasonable price, and since The Computer at Amazon.com has commended to me some of what you're selling, Prespos, I'll have a look-see. (Read my post "Cities of Mystery" to find out just how good a friend The Computer is....)

Posted - 10 Mar 2009 : 14:31:01 I tried for years to get my hands on FR4 The Magister... When I purchased the old FRA, I didn't even know about The Magister. But then I started seeing references to it in that and other early sourcebooks, and so I started searching for it. I scoured all the local and not-so-local places, and none of them had it. I once asked at Enterprise 1701 in Orlando (now known as Sci-Fi City), and they said they got it in occasionally, but there was a lot of people that wanted it, and thus a year-long waiting list. Eventually I thought to inquire with TSR's Mail Order Hobby Shop, but they didn't have it, either...
And then, years later, I got onto eBay. I'd been on there for a couple of months, and I'd only made one purchase -- I just couldn't think of anything to look for. And then I thought about checking there for The Magister. I had one in hand about 2 weeks later.
I'm likely going to bid on a couple of your auctions. I'm still missing a couple of things -- though not The Magister, which was something I was quick to replace. |
