One of the things I like about Malark is that he helped bring out the human part of Tam. Long ago, after he was betrayed by his own loyal servant (see the details in the short story Red Ambition), he vowed never to trust anyone. But he repeated his mistake: he trusted Malark...

Yep the duel between Tam and Malark great fun to read

i like all the characters in the book but i would have liked to have seen more of Gaedynn,Khouryn,Jherisi interaction in the company and their backstory as so far apart from Jherisi somewhere in her past Aoth saved her there not really added anything to the story for me I really wouldn't miss them if there suddenly got written out the story as I don't care about them as I do with Aoth,Mirror,Baneris,Tam, and Malark I found i wanted to read more about So-Kehur then the trio i just mentioned

I was glad that Aoth & company destroyed the Dread Ring and wasn't shocked that Zsass found a way around that little problem. Only issue I had was how he did it, it was a bit off-putting to me that he looked at the remaining Dread Rings in 4 ...5...6...7...8...then finally 9 dimentions and by "using his force of will", was able to mentally re-link them in a pattern that made up for the lack of one.

But, I greatly am enjoying Tam's little duel with Malark and am curious to see his reaction when he realizes it is Malark, as well as what happens now that Malark has Zsass positioned for what reads like a game winning kick?

Another fun line was when Aoth scout and archer (name escapes me , starts with a G) calls Jhershi honeydew when she asks if he is thinking about leaving. She seemed unapproachable in that sense, and one wonders if there is a link between them or if he is jesting her nature by calling her that.
