I saw an ad illustrating the cover of what must (?) have been Dragon Magazine 307 or 308. I tried to find out using DragonDex, but both issues seem to have articles which might fit the cover blurbs Will someone please help me to figure out which issue it is?

The cover blurbs are: "George R. R. Martin novella;" "Change the world: unleash magical storms;" "Blood in the streets -- can you survive the city?" The problem is that DragonDex doesn't list any fiction by Martin, and the issue which has an interview with him, map of Westeros, articles on Saga of Fire and Ice is not the issue with Dragon's one and only listed article on "magical weather" (and the "aeromancer" prestige class). The issue with these blurbs must, by the process of elimination, have been 307 or 308, but which is it? Help, please!

(Word to Paizo: Using the exact titles of your articles on the magazine cover is a good thing; listing the author might be even better.)

Thanks to Brenigin, the question of "Dragon 307 or 308?" has been SOLVED! (Sort of...)

I found a Dragon whose back issues page showed the covers of issues 305, 307, and 308. The cover which I saw in the ad in the other publisher's book was indeed for Dragon issue 305 -- sort of. The ad was placed by Paizo, and the illustration of the cover was apparently a mock-up, not the final cover, because the final copy cover blurb about "Secrets (of teeny-tint fonts)" was, instead, a version of the 308 cover blurb about storm magic (and not the final version of that, either). Apparently the ad was placed with a shorter deadline than the editor of 305 had for the magazine itself, so the ad featured a work-in-progress which was subsequently changed, with the storm magic article being postponed for three issues.

The breakdown is thus:
Cover in the ad which I saw -- 305 mock-up
George R. R. Martin story -- 305
George R. R. Martin interview and Westeros articles -- 307
Storm magic article -- 308

I do believe that I shall buy all three!

Ha ha! Now I am completely confused -- I didn't even look up 305 in the DragonDex to see what articles were in it. Is there anything in that issue about storm magic?
