Savage Species: Playing Monstrous Heroes (February) "...contains detailed information on constructing playable characters from Dungeons and Dragons monster races."
Dungeons and Dragons Arms and Equipment Guide (march) ...contains a wide array of new material ...similar to the equipment section of the Players Handbook
Forgotten Realms Races of Faerūn (march) ...contains previously unreleased details of each of the character races that exist in the Forgotten Realms setting.
Fiend Folio (april) ...gives D&D Dungeon Masters and players information on creatures of every type, including dragons, but with an emphasis on fiendish monsters such as demons and devils. ...specific information on how to integrate these monsters easily into a campaign of any level.
You can get the cover shots and more info on this side: http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=4907&mode=thread&order=0

interesting....
Dungeons and Dragons Arms and Equipment Guide (march) ...contains a wide array of new material ...similar to the equipment section of the Players Handbook
I hope it emphasizes equipment, like thieving tools and mining gear more so than weapons and armor. I'll likely buy it anyway.
Forgotten Realms Races of Faerūn (march) ...contains previously unreleased details of each of the character races that exist in the Forgotten Realms setting.
AQlready bought...

Hey more monsters, what could be better.

Posted - 08 Oct 2002 : 13:21:27 I hardly buy any products from wotc. Only the playerhandbooks and those that I need voor specific characters are on my bookshelf. I rather find out information by playing a character then that I have to pretend I don't know... somehow I start asking the wrong question, or don't ask them at all.
As I staded somewhere before I lost a lot of my naivity and inocence in the game and on some points I feel that's a shame. I am willing to look into the background of a land as we play there, but only that specific part and let me be in oblivion of the rest, so I can be truly surprised when my DM throws something new at me. |

Yeah, that's a shame, but if it is best for them, so it be. It is really just just about money, and they don't wanna make the same mistake as old TSR. I woule like that the new upcoming FR books have more historial and backgrund , not so much "crunchy" stuff.
I thought they did a good job with Silver Marches. That supplement contained a good amount of background information. If they keep up that level I will not be disappointed with the new FR releases.
As opposed to for instance the The Faiths & Pantheons book. That was to much abreviated IMO. Though having the three 2e Gods books for backup I can fill in the missing gaps easily. |

Posted - 30 Aug 2002 : 13:59:01 Lets face it, for a vast majority of Realms fans\DM's..... if theres an FR logo on it, then were gonna buy it
One thing that ive very disappointed in is the announcement that WotC are only releasing 4 FR products each year..... which, although the quality is much better, is a pale comparison to the release schedules of the days of TSR.

Posted - 30 Aug 2002 : 13:38:29 Will definitley purchase the new material. Anything that will allow me to expand my campaign is ok by me. Of course, I'm a Realms-aholic.

Posted - 19 Aug 2002 : 19:13:06 Fransys - You can get a copy of Silver Marches from Amazon.co.uk. They have it on 24 hour delivery at the moment! I got mine 2 weeks ago. Strangely no one else in the country seems to have it?

Posted - 16 Aug 2002 : 16:00:10 I admit it, I'll probably buy all of these books. If they ever arrive in the UK that is. I wonder when I'll be able to get a copy of the silver marches?

Posted - 13 Aug 2002 : 11:32:29 Same here. My RPG group will probably buy them all. I really look forward to the Races of Fearūn book. Hope it's not so crunchy though.

Posted - 09 Aug 2002 : 14:44:18 Savage Species: Playing Monstrous Heroes (February) I have to wonder whether this has been covered by other companies already? e.g. the Monsters and the Gods books.
Dungeons and Dragons Arms and Equipment Guide (march)
Forgotten Realms Races of Faerūn (march) Hurray! more FR stuff.
