Posted - 10 May 2011 : 07:30:59 Although I've mentioned it before, I've been writing a series of system-independent fluff pieces on the history of arms in the Kobold Quarterly online blog. They're meant as brief historical overviews with the goal of stimulating thought on weapons in your gaming worlds, Realmsian or Otherwise.
As of now, the five articles I originally proposed have been posted:
Historical Steel: The Haft of It (polearms) Historical Steel: Straight to the Point (straight swords) Historical Steel: Over the Fence (rapiers, thrusting swords) Historical Steel: Back to the Power Curve (curved/single-edged swords) Historical Steel: Dialing in the Range (bow vs. crossbow vs. gun)
So, feel free to take a read, pilfer ideas for your game, and enjoy. |

This is cool. I'll peruse these at length later. Do you have any others?
Not in the same series. I do have a crunchy article on chickens for 3.5/PFRPG that they ran as a Thanksgiving article. |
