The fabulous TSR Archive at home.flash.net/~brenfrow/ now just displays a page that says it's gone. Does anyone know if its content has been relocated anywhere?

For the people who are interested in, you can find the TSR Archive now here:
http://www.tsrinfo.net/archive/index.htm

Oh, it's so nice to see that site back up! Thanks for sharing the link!

Indeed. This is going in my URL file.

It's going onto my Linkies! page, too. I still had the old links there.

I got a reply from him a couple weeks ago:

"I've been really out of touch lately so I'm just catching up. The TSR Archive will be moving to a new location some time in the semi-near future. In the meantime please check The Acaeum forums (www.acaeum.com) for updates and links to functional archive sites."

He (blackdougal) also posted this to an Acaeum forum (http://www.acaeum.com/forum/about10466.html):

"Hello all! I'm alive and mostly well, just extremely busy. Work, kids, blah, blah, blah... you know the deal. So anyway, the provider that was hosting the site has been defunct for years so it's kinda miraculous that it lasted this long. So I guess it's finally time to get unlazy and find a new host. Sigh. Maybe that'll encourage me to actually update it too, huh? Honestly, I've been thinking about revamping the whole thing anyway but finding the time is really tough these days."

I posted a zip file and another user created a mirror of the local running TSR Archive. It was mirrored on revised version May 2009.

No response from the original owner as of yet.

And, in Shadowrun, you have a LOT of enemies.
Halidan Posted - 19 Aug 2010 : 21:03:02
Ashe,

It's not really paranoia if you actually have that many enemies
Ashe Ravenheart Posted - 19 Aug 2010 : 03:53:33
Yeah, I figured I was being paranoid. But in my defense, I've been writing out a Shadowrun campaign for my gaming group.

I'm doubtful it's anything more than simple coincidence. Especially since toril.info has disapeared at least twice before and hasn't been updated in ages. I think it's owner just descided to stop paying the site fees.

Prolly a coinky-dink. I'm not familiar with toril.info, but I can't see how the TSR Archive could have possibly incurred WotC wrath. Yeah, it mentioned OOP stuff, but it had nothing but pics, publishing info, and the blurbs from the back.

My offhand suspicion would be that user "brenfrow" had probably given up the account some time ago, and AT&T just got around to clearing that part of the site. Thus, no message of, "We're moving!", etc.

When I last heard from the site user on the Wizards boards some time ago, he did say that he'd like to start concentrating on other projects. So I suspect that this is what has happened.

That draws much vacuum! I've used that site a lot, over the years...

Whoa! I haven't checked that site in a while. Glad I saved almost everything from it during my last visit, though.
