I know there is a little info in the Draconomicon but it is not that helpful, since it cuts off at 20th level which for some dragon is really young. I think Red Dragons are 19 years old at 20th level equivilent. So I'm looking for a ecl map out of all the basic dragons up to the oldest catigories. I'm thinking of running a Realms game were everyone plays dragons that try to pass for human or other humanoid races in waterdeep and work as one of the controling forces in waterdeep as a council. Exploring the politics, how they work to create a power base through churchs, guilds, mages, ect. Doing the game with a more world of darkness style, than the adventuring style. Then have each player make a kind of henchmen they want and then each other player playing one of their henchmen. For example if one of the players is playing a black dragon, then he might say he wants orcs that are either sorcerers or rogues as his followers and he wants to have influence in one of the churches and the porters guild on the docks. So we'd build his part of the story there. I know 2nd ed had a council of wyrms but I'm looking for a good set of rules either cannon or not that cover advancement well past 20th for Dragons. Any help?

320 has the metallic dragons

You start off as a weak wyrmling and as you gain exp and make levels, you can take the dragon levels and get stronger, like get natural armor, abilities, fly faster, your breath weapons, etc... somewhere between 5 and 10 most become full on wyrmlings and by level 20 most are young or juvenile dragons. They can also take levels in other classes but that means they don't advance as a dragon those levels.

Savage Species had some rules/guidelines for breaking monsters down into PC classes, and I think Draconomicon discussed how to use dragons as cohorts, which might be useful |

There are some 20 level monster classes available in a couple of issues of Dragon Magazine. I do not remember the issue numbers though. I have the one that has metalic dragons and will try to remember to look up the number when I get home today. |

Could always try and have them play as dragons of a certain age category and then they can add on their own classes. So say, someone plays an adult black dragon, but instead of advancing in age category, they could just take a prestiege class or something. |

Some of the 3e DRAGONLANCE sources offer some possibilities, but I'm not sure whether that's a direction you'd want to take.
