Just got my copy. It was actually #417 / 500. That was cool and sad at the same time because that means that they have not even sold the initial 500 copies of it yet. If you are planning on buying this book and have the cash to do so, please order yours soon so they know that we like Monte Cook's works. |

My friend placed his order on Monday and got #309. Still waiting for a chance to read it, but I have the 9 issues (mixed) of Dragon and Dungeon that my wife got me for my birthday to read too. |

I'll probably order it tomorrow - like I said, signitures don't really do anything for me. They may increase the value somehow, but I never plan to sell anything I own, and hopefully by the time I die I'll be able to outfit my mausoleum like a library, and take everything with me.
I had one thing ever signed - a convention booklet signed by all members of the original Star Trek crew except William Shatner. I just happened to be riding up-and-down on an elevator (I was just thirteen) at the very first ST convention ever in NYC, and all of them got in on the floor above the convention floor, and I was alone with them. I didn't even ask them to sign it... I was too busy picking my jaw up off the floor. Michelle Nichols asked me if I wanted the thing signed, and when all I did was stare and say "homina homina homina", she reached over ad took it and signed it, and then passed it around.
That was so cool - too bad Shatner was such a jerk he didn't even associate with any of the others.
Years later a 'frend' of mine took a whole box of my books out of my basement (where I was letting him stay for free), and sold it to a used bookstore for beer money. ALL my Star Trek stuff was in there... 
Maybe there is a reason why I'm bitter about 'signed' stuff. |

129 out of 500 here.
Apparently it's got some errata in, but no substantial changes from the previous two books. Only really worth it if you want a hardcover version. |

I now have an autographed copy of Evermeet. I don't go around bragging about it, because that would be silly. It's just that to me, it's cool to have the author's signature in one of their books. It makes it that much better.
I'm inclined to agree. Most of the more popular DRAGONLANCE novels I have, were autographed copies from the specific authors. I've also got some Realms novels that have been signed to, that not as many as I would like -- but that's mostly because it can cost quite a bit to ship the novel to the author's location, have it signed, and then ship it back.

I still get a kick out of seeing my signed copy of Depths of Madness from Erik Scott de Bie on the shelf. It's one I'll always treasure.
I've got one Realms book signed by Ed [Temptation of Elminster I think] and one of his "Band of Four" books too, but I had to have relatives visit Ed during a book signing to do it. Then they shipped them here.

I used to have a copy of Dragonlance Adventures, signed by Tracy Hickman, and James Lowder once sent me an autographed bookmark with the cover art from Crusade. Both of these things were lost in the fire, but I thought it was cool to have them. It was like an extra bonus...

And one of the Elmore artbooks I have has a signed sketch in it -- he had some deal going on where if you spent extra on the book, he'd do a one-off sketch in it. Again, nothing to brag about, but still really cool to have.
My sister is a huge fan of Elaine's, and when it's closer to her birthday, I'm going to contact Elaine about getting an autographed copy of Elfshadow for her. I know that Jenn will flip over that.

I never understood the need to have another human being - who has no more value then you do - splash some ink onto a page just so you can have 'bragging rights'.

-I need to really look at it. My first look through I thought it was pretty spot on. I am glad I got a signed copy. I was afraid that I wouldnt get one of the signed ones.
