My name is IlexGarodan. I have been an avid D&D fan since 2004, but have only recently started playing. I, like the rest of you, am utterly amazed at the Forgotten Realms.. so if I could ever meet Ed Greenwood, I'd have to give him my thanks, and my eternal gratitude!

Well, that's all I can think about right now, so... oh, wait.. My character, Talqualyn Noquarn, a lv. 5 Half-Drow Fighter wants to say something. So, ignore any idle threats he gives.
-----------
Thank you, IlexGarodan (What kind of a name is that, anyway?! Draconic?!) Yeah, my name is Talqualyn Noquarn. Call me Tal. Any guys out there with Drow blood? If so.. want to start a rebellion against the Humans? It'll be fun! Swords swinging, piwafwis fluttering in the wind.. and laughing at the carnage we make! MuwaHAAAAAAhahahahahaha!!!!
.... what? Put me back?! Noo!! I don't want to go back in your brain! It's too cluttered!! Nooooooooo!!
-----------
That's the last time I'm letting him out.

Silly? We're the ones who decided we didn't need all those useless extra letters!

I dost thank thee for thy warm welcome, Alaundo the Wise. It is with great caution that I tread the Realms, fearing thy fortelling of the coming of the Bhaalspawn. I pray to Torm (And Tal to St. Cuthbert) that it never happens.

As for the authors.. Shoot!

RAS was registered here for a time, and answered a few odd posts here and there, but due to certain issues... he no longer posts or answers questions here at Candlekeep.

Well met, IlexGarodan

Apologies for my late arrival in welcoming thee to the library. I see my fellow scribes have already made thee welcome. Feel free to take a seat and peruse the tomes and scrolls of lore herein, and ask any questions ye wish

Enjoy thy stay.

To expand on the Wooly One's analogy - Ed's got a veritable smörgåsbord (not my fault you silly English-speakers haven't got as many letters as us Swedes) on his plate.

Some of the authors come here?! Whoa! I'd better watch where I step, and who I talk to, because who knows who I'll meet. Though.. have any idea if R.A. Salvatore or Ed Greenwood come here?

I've not seen RAS in here. Ed doesn't come in here directly, due to poor internet service and time issues. However, his playful and flirty mouthpiece, the lovely Lady Hooded One, does frequent these boards. She relays questions and comments back and forth to Ed. If you go to the latest Questions for Ed Greenwood thread, you can view some of the current questions and answers, and even ask some of your own. He's been answering questions for us since 2004; if you want to read more, you can check out a compilation of Ed's answers.

Be advised, though, that if you do ask a question, it may take a while for Ed to get to it. He's got a lot more on his plate that most people.

Well met, and welcome to keep Ilex. Let us hope your stay here will be pleasant and informative.

Perhaps you'd care to click the link to the Candlekeep frappr-map in my signature and show us where you live?

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Greetings to you Ilex, and welcome to Candlekeep.

Here you will find many curious questions pertaining to the Realmslore. You will also discover many fantastic answers -- some of which have even been provided by the Great Sages themselves.

So please, take a look around. If you feel the need to ask a question, simply find the appropriately place in the library and open a scroll. One of our many knowledgeable scribes will be happy to assist you in learning more about the Realms.

See you in the library .
