>> A weblog used to be personal commements, sort of a public diary. -- once comments are able to be added in becomes a forum.
By having comments on the main articles it allows anyone to share their opinions and ideas for all the world to read and respond to. So it's part forum, part blog.

>> mallmus are you part of the site administration over there? -- just wondering why you guys stuck with the candlekeep name
Yes, I'm part of the admin; we felt the name was most fitting for its purpose, for those realms-DMs seeking lore, what better place than the biggest library in the world? (and we'd also brought the domain name by then)

A weblog used to be personal commements, sort of a public diary.

Once comments are able to be added in becomes a foruon (A site that discusses things). These days I suspose you can classify a site anything you want to call it, bullitan board, forum or "blog" by deciding to call it what you want to.

Just to let you know the site is gradually getting back on its feet again now, come by and say hello, everybody welcome -- we've decided to not go with the forum this time round just yet, but each article can have comments added, much like a blog. Some of the old nifty bits that you may have seen might have been taken down, either for a redesign or never to come back -- Overall we're going for more of a online-realms-magazine angle, hopefully with regular updates of realms lore, maps and the like...

I think the site admin from over there did poke his head in here when I asked the same question. He seemed friendly enough...

Actually, I think they did consider changing their name during the site revamp... but for some reason they decided to stick with Candlekeep.

Well met

Indeed, my fellow scribes comments are correct, VonRaventheDaring.

I believe a member of the other site came to the forums once in the early days, but nothing has been heard since.

To be honest, whilst we certainly claim no rights to the "Candlekeep" name, I think their site would work much better if they had simply chosen another name.

Candlekeep.co.uk has absolutely no connection to *this* Candlekeep site.

In fact, as I recall... the guys over on that Candlekeep don't like us all very much because we host both FR authors and game designers -- the only other FR forum outside WotC that actually does that. Or rather, they didn't like us much before their site re-launch. I've noted recently that attendance seems to have dropped off from there since then.

I wonder where all those lost scribes went?

I asked a similar question shortly after I joined here. There is no connection between the sites.

If you're referring to candlekeep.co.uk, the two sites have no connection or affiliation, as far as I know(and I have been here for quite awhile...)
