Today, March 13th (I'm at -0500 GMT), my nephew was born. His mother wouldn't like me putting up his name online, but his initials are APB. (Yes, his father is a police officer, how'd you guess? )

He's born about a month premature; they induced birth because of certain complications. Because of those same complications and his small size (he weighs only 3 pounds and 12 ounces, something like 1.3 kg I think), he's being kept in the neonatal unit until he tops 6 lbs. and doesn't show any problems.

Now . . . anyone know of an Elminster plushy I can buy him? Gotta start him on the Realms as soon as I can!

CONGRATS BOOKWYRM,

JUST THE OTHER DAY WAS MY BUNDLE OF JOYS 10TH BIRTHDAY, THE WORLD WOULD CERTAINELY BE DARKER WITHOUT HIS LIGHT TO WARM US ALL. AND IT CERTAINLY HELPS WITH YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE WHEN YOU HAVE A THAT SPECIAL CHILD IN YOUR LIFE.

LONG LIFE AND GREAT HAPPINES TO ALL!!

P.S. SAGE I LOOK FORWARD TO YOU HAPPY DAY, BEST WISHES

In a few years, you can play a game I often play with my nieces and nephews (your persona reminded me). Here's how it goes:

Buy those large,crystal-like rocks that are supposed to decorate the bottoms of fishtanks. They are good substitutes for diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. Alternatively, you can use coins. Then take turns being the Red Dragon guarding his hoard while a bunch of meddling adventurers try to steal the treasure. You can even have a point system determined by the number of hits (handslaps) versus treasures stolen to see whether the Dragon kills off the adventures before they steal his treasure.

Its a sneaky way of creating future roleplayers.

My daughter is six months old now, and she LOVES the huge red dragon mini from Giants of Legend. I caught her playing with my Underdark book (her first foray into the Realms I imagine) and got a cute picture. She looks like she's playing D&D! If you're anything like my brother, I am sure you'll have lots of fun with your nephew, best wishes.

Just not those pink porno ones pimps have hanging from their rear-view mirrors

Grats to you and your brother Wyrm, I'm sure you will both make excellent role models and bring a wealth of joy to the young'un's life

And Sage, good luck with that! One of the few times where I say, I think the world could use a few more little Sages running around

Congrats Bookwyrm. Good to see you're already excited about a possible candidate for your DM'ing group. In about 10-12 years he should be an expert with your tutalage.

Especially the ones that squeak when you squeeze them.

Aye!

Pass along my congratulations, Bookwyrm . I imagine this is a very exciting time for all your family. And I hope for all the best.

'Tis a joy I hope I'll be experiencing soon enough...
