Posted - 03 Jan 2003 : 23:04:59 Greetings noble creatures - I am Alexis Merlin; a traveller of many strange parts who has recently stopped by at this most learned of places.
A bit about myself-
The closest I have got to doing AD&D 'proper' is through the Baldurs Gate Games - I completed the first earlier this year and am currently on Chapter III of the 2nd. Try as I might I have not been able to find anyone in my Area to try the game out with ; though I do have a large number of roleplaying friends they all prefer games like 'Hunter' or 'Star Wars'...ah well I am going to Imperial College London next year so should no doubt find a wealth of opportunities there.
Anyhow thats all really for the time being - do feel free to reply to this with info about yourselves or questions to me.
Best Regards
Alexis Merlin
P.S. Big thankout to whoever set up the site!!

Posted - 13 Jan 2003 : 22:06:58 Thankyou everyone for being so welcoming! <gulps down mug of spiced wine a little too fast, gives an idiotic grin and keels backwards>
<sometime later that day, staggers to feet>
Now as I was saying, erm...what was I saying? <looks around slightly belwildered, grins nervously and heads off in search of food> |

Posted - 04 Jan 2003 : 10:14:37 Greetings Alexis and enjoy your stay.
A lot of the other scribes here have played the Baldur's Gate series as well as the other Infinity Engine games so you should find someone to discuss these topics with.

Posted - 04 Jan 2003 : 09:19:34 Welcome indeed, Sir Merlin!
AS you'll find there's a lot of D&D and Forgotten Realms here, be it in computer games, books or in roleplaying in several forms. Loads of information of course (this is Candlekeep) and many a scribe who's willing to help you with that.
Apart from that it's a community.
Enjoy your stay

Posted - 04 Jan 2003 : 02:15:44 Grettings Alexis, as Aluando said, I'm sure you will meet many friends. I'm fairly new myself and know from experience that most everyone here at Candle Keep does their best to be friendly and make you feel welcome. And so I shall do the same. Allow me to be the first to extend my have. Should you have any questions, I put my limited knowledge at your service. |
