Good day, most esteemed scribes and sages of Candlekeep.
May I humbly introduce myself? My name is Zorro, and I am a lurker. (Feel like an alcoholic right now, though.) It saddens me to say that I have lurked for what seems like an eternity now – two to three years perhaps –, over at the Wizards' boards where I, quite frankly, never felt comfortable enough for registering. (Veterans might just have a slight idea why *g*) If it wasn't for a small number of good folk whose posts I've had the pleasure to thoroughly enjoy over the years – Sirius, Wooly, Faraer, Lashan and of course the all-knowing kuje31, just to name a few –, I wouldn't have returned to the boards of evil every once in a while. Well, maybe just to see if they shut the whole thing down altogether. Anyway, when I finally found out about the amenities a certain other forum has to offer – thanks to kuje31 and his compilation of insights no less a scribe than The Scribe Himself is kind enough to share –, I made for Candlekeep. Until now I was busy catching up with as many scrolls as I could, and I'm glad to say: I'm all set.
To make a long introduction short: It's a pleasure to have finally arrived.

That just didn't seem to go right. So... That part above the [quote] thing Is what Zorro said, as you probably (I use that word too much, I know) noticed. The line that was supposed to be there, wasn't.

Indeed  . A great reference, Zorro  . In fact, it's one of my particular favorites from Wilde's, In Conversation.

Do I sense a faint touch of irony? I am not familiar with the customs of these halls. I just considered it to be polite to introduce myself before I plunge head-first into a discussion, especially since everybody else seems to make a proper introduction. Could be mistaken, of course. I should like to use a quote to the effect of "God was disappointed with man – therefore He went back to the drawing board and now concentrates solely on monkeys again", but unfortunately I don't remember who the heck said that.

Boards of evil... I like that. Since I was wrongly banned there, I can fully agree with that sentiment!
Anyway, welcome to Candlekeep!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, as you've noted, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay! |

Well, welcome. You'll find it's quite different here. Feel free to be a non-lurker . . . Alaundo doesn't like it when a scribe's work number doesn't increase.
